I'm watching the Daytime Emmies because there's nothing else on, and they have a tribute to Mr. Rogers from the gang at Sesame Street. It reminds me that Elmo is puppeteered by a tall black man. That never ceases to crack me up. That ultra cute voice coming out of his mouth, it's just so funny. I saw an interview with him last week on a Biography special about Sesame Street, and he told a very funny story about how his young daughter thinks of Elmo. She knows that Elmo is somehow connected to her dad, that that is his job, but she often asks to speak to Elmo over the phone. Like, "Okay Dad, put Elmo on." XD So her dad switches to the Elmo voice, and she tells Elmo about toys she wants with the instructions that Elmo is to tell her father about them. XD That is so freakin' adorable.
I would love to do a puppet show, but I can't puppeteer because we did that in high school, and there's this thing called lactic acid building that just killed my arm. Hold your arm above your head for as long as you can. Feel that intense pain after a while? That's lactic acid buildup. I can't stand that. :D If I could do a puppet like the ones on MST3K, I could handle those, because you don't have to hold your hand up above your head for hours. I don't know how Kevin (Elmo) does it. I think his first name is Kevin. Kevin Clash?
Heh, I remember we did this play about Santa Claus where I acted the Santa puppet, and they said that Santa kept sinking lower and lower in the puppet stage as the skit went on... oh yeah, Laurel's arm was hurtin'. ^_^
