Aug. 26th, 2003 05:00 pmOnly, well actually, 1 1/2 days left until my trip to Vegas! I feel like I still have a million things to do to get ready, maybe because I do? Packing tonight, after my laundry dries. I'm working on sleeping through the night so I can be up all day for this trip; wouldn't exactly work well to be sleeping any part of the day while everyone else is having fun! XD "Just step over Laurel, we hope she wakes up soon." Nope! It seems to be working so far. I took a nap this afternoon, and I feel pretty good right now (except for the horrible sinus coughing-and-barfing-up-mucous fit I had an hour ago). :P Hopefully I can maintain it throughout the trip, then stay up all night when I get back into my own area since I have a ***5 hour layover*** in FT. WORTH (which is an hour's drive from my home!!!!!). Stupid Greyhound. If only I had some way to get home from Ft. Worth, I wouldn't have to wait around all night for it!! I'm too old for this shit! I'm gonna be so tired. But I'll survive.
Ooh I really hope Greyhound is still as lax as they were back in the early 90's. It's too much trouble to take any checked baggage; I've just got the two allowed carry-ons. One of them is 6 inches too long. I can't check it even if they tell me to because there's a video camera in it (haha!). So hopefully, I won't get any shit there. I remember back in the 90's I had several things I carried on the bus and most of the bags I kept at my feet, and they hardly gave me any trouble. Just got barked at by a couple of overzealous drivers to put the bags in the overhead bin. I don't know how much things have changed since then, but this monster camera won't fit in a smaller bag, so... I can't see why 6 inches is such a bad thing. Maybe it means I'm a terrorist??? :O Just kidding FBI!
The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the bus ride to the train station. I haven't been on a DART bus in ten years, so it's just unfamiliar. I'll be thinking to myself what if the bus never arrives, how will I get there, and other paranoid crap. Then everything will go off without a hitch and I'll be all relieved, wondering why I worried. My stupid brain. :P
I'm going to have horrible rp withdrawals while I'm gone, lol. No internet! Play has been going *really* well lately. I'll miss you people who don't exist! XD
I also wanted to get an episode of SM Dark out before I went, but it doesn't look like I'll get it typed now. :( It's written, just need to type it. This week snuck up on me; I suddenly realized last night that I hadn't gotten it done yet, and it's kind of too late. Oh well, it can wait until after I get back.
