Life in general was okay today. I had to go take some MS Office tests at work to see if I am properly qualified for this job I applied for in the Safety Dept. The tests were in Access and Excel. I was surprised there was no typing test. Maybe they are going to use my results from when I originally applied. *shrug* Anyway, I did pretty good; at least I would consider it pretty good. I did better in Access than Excel, but both I scored as at least Intermediate. On Access, I got several of the Advanced questions correct too. Excel, though, I kinda sucked in the Advanced category, heh. I'm rusty in Excel. But I did alright everywhere else. I don't know how good they need me to be at each program, so I don't know if this is enough. I would think it would be; it's not an extremely advanced or managerial sort of job. It's a clerky job. I might just still be in the running! In some ways, I'm like meh, I'm not going to get the job, but these tests gave me hope. ^_^ I'm a bit excited at the prospect. I catch on to new software pretty quickly, so it should really be rather challenging and a nice change of pace. I love learning new things. Just the idea is cheering me up. ^_^ Even if I don't get the job, it's like it opened up new possibilities for me, that I can just keep watching the job postings and apply for others as they come along.

I might actually enjoy working for Grey Dawg if I can get off the phones and into a calmer office setting, where I don't have to deal with people being irritating, abusive idiots all day. I don't know how much it pays yet, but I KNOW it's better than what I get paid now!

Either way, it's nice to know that after several years of not touching either program, I can still do fairly well at Access and Excel.
