Ho hum

Still job hunting. There are a few job leads that look promising, so we'll see what happens. A staffing agency is looking for administrative support types to fill office positions in the Dallas Independent School District. That one wouldn't start for weeks, but it'd be a nice job. Also, Boltbus is hiring. Boltbus is an affiliate of Greyhound, and I'd be doing essentially the same job I was doing for GH except with more customer service duties (refunds, complaints, etc). In the exact same building. Probably the exact same room. I know I complained about GH a lot, but it's going to be like that with any job because all jobs are a pain sometimes. (My dad was a big complainer. It's hereditary?) I just need a freakin job already, so I applied for it, and I'm hoping that my background with GH will get it for me. There seems to be some time off the phones handling emails and snailmail complaints, too. And then there were a few other call centers that put up ads just the other day that sounded okay.

I'm tired of living out of a suitcase. I want my own room with my own closet where I can hang my clothes. I want to unload my storage space and unpack my things. Somebody just give me a job already. :PPPP

Back in the late 80's, my sister and I and a high school friend used to tape and interview Dallas/Ft Worth local bands, mostly rock and thrash metal bands. My sister and Shelly, the friend, did the camerawork and I did the interviews. Probably our biggest claim to fame was filming Pantera before they hit it big. We also covered some bands that came in from other states and other parts of Texas to play here. Recently I got back in touch with a couple of these guys (Robert and Turner) and they're both very excited about getting copies of the old tapes converted to digital copies. So sometime soon, I gotta get in my storage space and see if any of my tapes are there, or if they're at my sister's house. It's something fun to do to occasionally break the monotony of job hunting. :D

As a bit of WTF music trivia, if you've seen Nirvana's DVD (Live! Tonight! Sold Out!), the part where they're playing a show at Trees in Dallas, and Kurt Cobain gets into a fight with a bouncer whom he hit in the head with his guitar, and the guy punches Kurt? That's Turner. Otherwise a very sweet guy (well, he was always cool to us). Honestly, Kurt could've killed him with that thing and I don't really blame Turner for getting angry, especially since he's the one who walked away bleeding.
