sailorhathorI mentioned that when Kaye came to visit me and we got my bookcase that she had brought me a used computer tower from her dad's work. I've been working on it ever since to get it ready for use, when I had time to play with it, anyway, and I'm finally online with that computer now. ^__________^ Hello from Sunny New Computer, TX!
The basics: The hard drive has Windows 98 on it, and it had almost 6 gigs of free space left when I got it, which is sheer heaven to me after dealing with my old one. I tested it out one night to discover that it would only show 16 colors. O_o I guess the company figured they weren't going to be playing any games or surfing the net with these computers, so who needs a billion colors? Heh. Well, that's easily fixable. I just bought a new video card. Also got a 56k modem to put in it, and here I am!
The switcher works great too! Now I can switch between the two computers anytime I need to. It'll be a while before I can toss out the old one; there's too much important stuff on it still.
This means I can get back on MinMX and download mp3's again. ^_____________________________________^ wee!
I've got AOL 8.0 on here. Away Messages, how I missed ye!
And look, websites load up in a few seconds in most cases! O_O That's different!
I'm considering moving my scanner to this comp, and my video card... printer... although I'm a little afraid once I move them, I'll need them on the old comp at some point. We'll see.
Either way, squeeeeeeeee! Thank you Kaye's Dad's company for upgrading!
