I had a dream last night that I lived back in my parent's house, and my mother had come back to life. No one knew how to explain it, because it had been a miraculous thing, but we didn't try to explain, we were just happy she was back. She'd been alive again for some long period of time. I was happy because I finally had someone to give a present to on Mother's Day after so many years of ignoring it or putting flowers in a stone vase on a grave.
Dreams like that always make me reflect on how my life would have been different if she had lived, how all of our lives would have been different. There's no way I can know, but sometimes, I really need her, and I hope she would have been proud.
If you still have a mom, please give her something tomorrow. You have the choice, at least.
I've had several people say to me, "Happy Mother's Day" on the phone at work, and I really don't know what to say back. I usually just say thanks.
I've decided to work this out in a story, because I've had dreams like this off and on for years. I'm sure others who have lost their mothers do too.
On a funny note, one guy was being really fresh with me on the phone at work, and he goes, "Happy Mother's Day," so I said, "Thanks, but I'm not a mother," and he replied really saucily, "You COULD be," and hung up. ::eye roll:: :D
