The Saga of Stuff Laurel has Bought
Jun. 15th, 2005 09:45 pmI bought the CD burner drive. There was no place to plug it in inside my computer; all the slots were taken. So, I returned it. I'll be looking for an external one, I guess.
I tried to buy my desk, but they didn't have anymore. :( The dude said they have more on order. I thought of buying another one at Office Depot that looked okay, but ultimately decided that it just wasn't what I wanted. It looked hella complicated to put together, for one thing. You'd have to see a picture to understand. I think I'll wait for the one I really want.
I DID get the printer/scanner/copier, and it's working just fine! I LOVE it!! It prints super fast, very good quality. I am going to print out a buttload of neato pics (like SKEET and RINGU/THE RING pics) and make collages. My walls are so lonely. I know I am not staying here, but I need daily fannish stimulation that these pictures would provide. I will have to do more tests with the scanner before I can decide if I like the way it scans or not. I scanned some pics off the "Nobody's Baby" DVD and they look really crappy, full of moire patterns, but the original pics were tiny and I blew them up, so it wasn't a good test. It came with a program that has Optical Character Recognition, which means you can scan documents and it will turn them into text on your computer, so you don't have to retype anything. I thought OH YES maybe I can scan my handwritten stories and turn it into typed text!! Of course, the first test was a total bust. The program went, "Guh? That's text?!" at my handwriting. XD I'll have to try printing something (instead of cursive) and see if it recognizes that. Now I want to print and scan and copy EVERYTHING I SEE just to play with my new toy.
Apparently, Skeet was on "The Craig Ferguson Show" last night and I didn't know. I missed it. ::jumps off a bridge:: I've heard he was very cute. ::commits harikari:: Dressed all in black. Hair was to his neck. ::ritual sepakus self:: Anyone tape it? ::stops hopefully::
::Does the I Love my New Printer Dance::
