Saw the foot doctor today. He doesn't think there's any reason for surgery, YAAAAAAY! Basically, the pain has been brought on by improper foot wear, age, and extra weight probably didn't help. I agree with him, since getting new shoes helped so much with the pain. He said proper support is very important for your feet, especially as you get older. Again, making sense. I told him that I had just bought new shoes and gel insoles, which is what he said he would have prescribed anyway, hee. I was ahead of him. He also showed me these foot exercises to do. So basically, I've been prescribed physical therapy. I can do it at home unless it doesn't help, then I have to go to professional physical therapists. They x-rayed my foot; he said my heel was normal and healthy, with good circulation, except I have a tiny bone spur. He said it wouldn't cause the pain I was having because it was very small. But he showed me how there's tissue from the heel to the middle of your foot that can become strained by bad shoe support, which leads to the achilles tendon taking up the slack and becoming strained too. Hence, pain. Again, all making perfect sense. I like the guy because he said that while extra weight can cause foot problems, and that losing weight could help, many skinny people have foot problems too, so mine cannot be blamed on that alone. It's so true, and shows me that he's a good doctor who doesn't look for the easy answer. I do want to lose more weight, though. But that's beside the point. Oh, and he said that the shovel through the foot had nothing to do with my current foot problems, so I could stop "being mad" at my sister. XD Silly doctor. I was like haha, I know she didn't mean to do it, but I still watch myself around her if she's anywhere near a shovel. ;)

I'm SO relieved there will be no surgery at this time. Now I can buy my Yule/Christmas presents without worry.

Speaking of that, I got my first present in the mail today - I bought the "The Ring" soundtrack with an Amazon gift certificate

alvafan gave me. I'm listening to it right now. It has all the best music from both movies on it! Eeeee, squee, thank you Deejay! Now I need to buy what I can with the rest of the certificate.
