I'm going to write up my funeral entry tomorrow night or Thursday; I know it will be long so I want to do it when I have lots of time.
I just wanted to ask a question to see if anyone knows - my dad had this clock that was modeled after navy ship clocks. I have it now. It's very nice. But it chimes at 20 minutes after the hour and 50 minutes after the hour. Does anyone know why? Is this some sort of navy thing?
(Edit:
kayekitty suggested that maybe the clock is off by ten minutes, and is actually supposed to chime on the hour and half hour. Which makes a great deal of sense. The clock has been dropped a couple times.)
Everytime it chimes, it's like my dad is still with me. ^_^
Just wanted to again thank those who have been there in the last two weeks, especially since some people didn't see the need to say a word of sympathy about it.
Oh! The doctor who did my dad's bypass called and gave his opinion on what caused his death. He said since the defib never went off, and since someone spoke to Dad within hours of his death, that it wasn't a heart attack; it was most likely one final, massive stroke. It makes a huge amount of sense. I even figured it out before we heard from the doctor. My dad was having mini-strokes for two years before he died. It was just a matter of time.
To end this on a happier note, this week's "Supernatural" is actually pretty good. And HAWT. Dean has become one of my favorite tv characters ever. "What's your name?" "John Bonham." YOU ROCK DEAN. "Dude, you're fugley." He's just so interesting and funny. Gets all the best lines. I might force myself to watch it every week just for him. Strong with a soft-hearted middle, mm mm mm! Hopefully, the stories will stay good. And HAHA writers, Burkittsville. Seen any Blair Witches? I need me some Dean icons. I hope that they continue to do refs like the John Bohnam one; it would be really fun to hear Dean use a different rock/metal alias every week and for once, I get it while many others don't. "My name? Bruce Dickinson." "My name? Rob Halford." "My name? Blackie Lawless." (Somehow, I think that one would stick out.)
