I doed the meme that [livejournal.com profile] eviljy and [livejournal.com profile] kaijawest doed before me.

Name 6 weird habits of yours. (Or something like that.)

1. The thumb peeling thing I mentioned the other day. For YEARS, I've had this habit of peeling the dead skin off around the corners my thumbnails. It always escalates to me peeling the skin off down the side of my thumb. Don't ask me why the skin there is so dead that I can do this. It does bleed at times and it does hurt at times. But when it gets really painful, I leave it alone. I know I shouldn't do it, that I should get a band-aid and cover it RIGHT NOW, but it's so freakin' addictive. I had someone tell me that this was equal to cutting once. Pfft. I am not a freakin' emo cutter. I don't do it to hurt myself. I do it because I'm BORED. Then it becomes addictive and I can't stop. Once I put a band-aid on it, I pick at the band-aid.

2. Pacing. Another thing I've done since I was a kid. I pace when I talk on the phone and when I am telling someone a story, unless we're in a public place sitting down to dinner or something. But if we're at home, and I'm telling them some story about something that happened to me, pace pace pace, like a caged animal. Drives people nuts. I don't really realize I'm doing it most of the time.

3. Adding up numbers on the clock/counting things. I do this when I'm bored, sitting and waiting for the train or something. I add up the numbers on the clock, or count tiles, whatever's available. Items must always be counted right to left. I have no idea why.

4. Fondling pillow cases. Since I was a kid. Used to carry a pillow case around the house with me. They're soft, and it helps me think to run one through my fingers. My mom noticed this habit and would ask me what was troubling me when she saw me with a pillow case (she noticed the thumb thing too).

5. Paint it black! When I handwrite stories, and I make a mistake, I usually completely obliterate the mistake with ink. I mean, totally cover it with a black blob, just color it all in. This is because, again, it helps me think. If the story is flowing along fine, I just cross mistakes out a little and keep writing. This drove my sister NUUUUUTS. "You're wasting ink!" Chick, pens are cheap.

6. Piles, piles, everywhere, but not a drop to drink. I make piles of papers everywhere. This pile contains important stuff I need to look at this week, this pile contains old work crap, this pile contains stories, on and on. The piles get moved around and sometimes thrown in boxes until I can make time to look through them. This is hereditary - my mom did this too. :D

I tag anyone who wants to do this meme.
