Oooooh weeeeee ooooooh...
May. 23rd, 2006 09:56 pmI'm getting a little freaked so I'd appreciate opinions on what could be going on here. Read the following explanation:
Let me first explain that I can be really superstitious. I do not mean that I throw salt over my shoulder when I spill it or believe that breaking a mirror gives you seven years bad luck. I mean I am really superstitious about jinxing and omens in general. I've seen too many in action not to believe to some degree. So, what's been happening much too often lately really has me spooked and looking for reasons.
I get up to get ready for work around 7:15AM. Sometimes 7:20 if I'm really sleepy. Ah, extra five minutes... it rawks. Over the last few weeks, I've noticed the following - I take my shower, I get out, and at some point, I check the clock. Either I brush my teeth or put on anti-stinky stick, then check it, or check it immediately. For the last few weeks, everytime I check the clock, and I mean EVERY TIME, it's 7:47AM. Doesn't matter if I slept in five minutes, doesn't matter if I check it immediately or after brushing my teeth, it's ALWAYS 7:47. Over the last few days, I started purposefully trying to change my routine a little to see if it would still be 7:47. IT WAS. The only way it's not 7:47 is if I purposefully get up at 7:00 or 7:05, then it's much earlier when I check the clock. WTF?! What are the odds?!
It started to freak me out because I'm going on a plane for the first time ever next week, and planes can be 747s. I checked, and PHEW. I'm flying on 757s. So what does this mean? Does it mean anything? Seems too bizarre to be a wild coincidence. I know I have a routine, but DAYUM. Down to the exact minute? Come on... But it makes no sense, either. What the heck is with this time?
I don't want to suggest the cliche' "someone died in my apartment at exactly 7:47AM and now they're trying to communicate with me" because, well, like I said, it's cliche', and GAAAAAH no haunted apartment, I wouldn't sleep for weeks, noooooo. I also do not want to suggest the "something significant is going to happen to me at 7:47AM" thing because I've had enough of significant happenings over the last two years and I need a rest. Unless it's a good, amazing, wonderful thing, then BRING IT AWN. It just feels like an omen. :\
Am I being silly?
