My Summer Vacation by Laurel
Jun. 7th, 2006 07:42 pmStill very tired. Is this jetlag? I've always wondered what jetlag was like. Yay I have jetlag for the first time ever!
My stomach is a bit upset. It's saying, "What? No more fabulous eat out food? What is this slop you're feeding me! I want to go back to Florida!" So I'm taking it easy today. I'm on vacation, so I can. ::sits back and grins::
I'm going to recap as much of my trip as my tired brain will let me.
This is going to be something of the condensed version because of me being tired and somewhat braindead. I'm sure I will talk about the vacation a lot and add new things that I forget in subsequent entries. First, the plane ride out there was uneventful. Very smooth. It was funny because I refused to look out the window much since I was a little apprehensive about my first flight. I could feel that we were leaving the ground. I thought we must be just going up, so I allowed myself to peek out the window, and I see LITTLE TINY HOUSES FAR FAAAR down below. And it was like OHSHITOHSHITOMGOMGOMG. But I kept it together, I was just singing Metallica at top volume inside, heh.
I didn't really like that feeling of going up a little, then down a little that the plane did on occassion. It wasn't that bad, really. I'd get on a plane again. I'm still scared of crashing or getting hijacked though.
And isn't the safety video hilarious? I just loved how calm all those people were about putting on a life vest. "We're about to crash into the ocean. I think I'll tighten this strap and then calmly sit down to wait to die, humteedum."
alvafan and I found each other at the airport. The first thing I see is a bright green sign with a picture of Skeet on it, a half-naked picture I might add, wearing Mickey Mouse ears. :D The sign says, "Welcome Lo-chan, Honorable Ho of Skeet!" Yes, I am. ::bowbow::
We went out to eat at a very nice place called Bonefish and I had my first martini. I don't do a lot of drinking; most of what I've had in the past was daquiris, wine coolers, shots, uhhh screwdrivers, and this yummy drink that combined some sort of blue alcohol with orange juice and made a green drink, which the guy called a Ziploc, haha. (Yellow and blue make green.) So this started a quest to find me a drink I liked. I am pretty much a Girl Drink drunk. (As the Kids in the Hall would say.) The food was delish.
Ummm I think that's all we did the first day. Deejay got me a Florida care package with all kinds of beach things in it, a shot glass, other fun souvenirs. ^_^
I am far more tired than I originally thought; typing is wearing me out. O_o I'll put up more posts as time goes by, maybe another one tonight, summing the rest up. My brain just shut down. Just want to mess around and not think for a few hours.
