This has taken forever for me to type up, but there are various reasons. Mostly because I've been sick ever since I got back to Dallas, like, totally exhausted and dragging my ass out of bed for work. The doctor gave me antibiotics to fight off the sinus infection I keep trying to get, and I have a referral to an ENT specialist. I need to remember to make that appointment today.

I think this was Saturday: I forgot that we ate lunch at a place called Aunt Catfish. Just wanted to say that so when I look at my souvenirs and see the napkin, I don't go, "When did we eat there?" I had catfish in some form. Can't remember what they called them. They were good; that's all that matters. ;)

Sunday (this is June 4, just to recap), Deej, her sister Candy, and I packed up and headed for Orlando to a hotel near Downtown Disney, where we were staying just to be close to The Mouse. Before we got there, we visited a really nice mall on the way. There was a Bahama Breeze nearby where we had lunch first, though. I think we have those here; the name of the restaurant is very familiar. Good food. I had a kabob with steak so tender, I could cut it with a butter knife. And garlic marshed potatoes, droooooool... I am a fiend for garlic mashed potatoes. I should get some at the store today!

The mall was really cool. We went to Build a Bear to browse around, and Ricky got a t-shirt. Ricky is Ricky Raccoon. He's a stuffed animal, a raccoon (didn't see that one coming, did ya?), that I take with me on every vacation. It became a tradition some years ago. I think it started with my graduation trip to California. Anyway, I consider him good luck, so he becomes well traveled. Deej bought him a tye-dye Florida t-shirt. God it's adorable. We're such girls. Women have some sort of innate tendency to dress things up. We decided that Ricky needed something he could wear from each place I go from now on, like a hairthing or something I could tie on his tail. The store had a Puppy that I must someday buy and dress all metrosexually and call him Paul. But he gets a leather jacket too. 'Cause it was cute.

We also had a ball in the M&M's store. There were all these huge tubes running all over the store full of M&M's in every color. I got a blue M&M shot glass - the blue M&M represents the crispy M&M, which is my favorite. It's also a favorite color of mine, next to purple. Then I had my picture taken with the green M&M, who was walking around in her go-go boots. All I could think was damn, that costume must be hot. But I have a thing about having my picture taken with as many goofy costumed people as possible (like when some poor employee is forced to put on a giant head and a hot furry costume and is trotted out for just such picture-taking opportunities; I am so there). We also asked an employee to take our picture in front of the M&M wall. That's exactly what it sounds like, a wall of M&M tubes in every color. Very cool.

After this, we went to the hotel to check in. A friend of Deejay's came to meet us so we could all go out to dinner. Nice to meet you, [livejournal.com profile] killabeez! She went with us to Wolfgang Puck's. I had a personal pizza there with garlic and roma tomatoes on it, very yum. I'm all about the garlic lately. The fandom conversation started there. I rarely get to have fandom convos with actual face-to-face people. [livejournal.com profile] just_kaye and I discuss fandom kinda stuff, but on the phone most of the time because she lives too far to just jaunt over here on a regular basis. And we don't really share many of the same fandoms, we just kind of talk about our favorite stuff to the other person who is simply willing to listen. So I really enjoyed just getting to chat about various fandoms with people who know who/what the hell I'm talking about. If I discussed slash with most of the people I work with, they'd exorcise me. "I love a good Dean/Paul story, and I can even deal with a Wincest story here and there. Will you PLEASE stop sprinkling that holy water in my face?!" Deej had calamari, which I tasted. It was alright. Not anything I'd order myself. 'Cause there's no garlic on it, hehe. (That was a joke; for all I know, it could be crawling with garlic. You know, maybe I shouldn't talk about calamari and crawling in the same thought...)

We found me an alki drink to call my own! I had some sort of daquiri with dindin. It was all swirly with pretty colors and tasted divine. Now that's my kind of alcoholic drink. Pretty and yummy and girly.

After dinner, we walked around these downtown Disney shops for a bit, where we found Insane Puppy Keychain. Which is... an insane puppy keychain. A keychain of a dog that goes nuts when you press its tummy. He goes, "Woof woof woof! Hello! *unintelligible screaming*! *lots of crazy laughter* *whimpering* Ruff ruff! *more crazy laughter*" It's Paul in "You Are My Sunshine"!

We went back to the hotel to sit in the bar and engage in more fandom talk. This was one of my favorite things; it was just really fun. Originally we were going to go in the hot tub or the pool or maybe both, but it kept raining all day. So the bar it was. I had another girly drink called a Melonball, which was also very yum. Deejay has some very funny convention stories. I'm not me, I'm my sister.

I don't think we did anything else that night, just went to bed.

The next day was Disneyworld! Let me see how much I can remember... you know, I'm going to have to hunt up my map of Disney and recap this later. Right now I badly want a bath and to run my errands before all the good tv comes on.
