I was home sick again today, not because I feel bad, but because I lost my freakin' voice. It started to get really bad on Sunday; I could barely talk on the phone at my job. I had to try really hard to get any power into my voice so people could hear me. It was giving me a headache just trying to speak. This morning, I got up, and my voice was so soft it was like a little mouse. I tried to scream, and it came out, "aaaaahhhh." My vocal cords are coated in snot! My voice needs a rest. I figured I'd just make it worse if I tried to force it anymore; plus, no one would've been able to hear me today, trust me. My voice keeps going in and out now. I'd try to go back to work tomorrow, but Grey Dawg has this stupid rule that says they won't excuse your absence unless you miss two days and bring a doctor's note. I really don't want to miss that much work right now, but I also don't want to be written up. So I may sign up for extra hours on one of my days off to make some of it up. It's just really frustrating. I had no intention of missing this much work right now, and then I had no choice. Being able to talk is one of the most important things about doing my job. :P
