Jun. 9th, 2004 12:49 amI forgot one! Future cult show: "Cowboy Bebop." The following comment is not about all CB fans, just most of the ones I've spoken to - pushiest fans ever. Don't ever tell them you don't like the show; they'll pants you. I've never seen people get so worked up and try harder to force me to like something in my life. :P
I'm watching the Sci-Fi mini-series Five Days to Midnight this week because Angus Macfadyen is in it. It has been stretched over four nights, so there's a lot of filler, but I'm pleasantly surprised with how much I like it. I don't think I'd watch it over and over or anything, but it was written with care and detail. Angus hasn't been in it much so far. Which does make sense, I guess, because it wouldn't really fit for his character to be hanging around a lot because of who he is. Still, it'd be nice to see him more. Timothy Hutton seems to be sleepwalking through most of his part, though. Like, many times, his reaction doesn't seem to be intense enough for what he's dealing with. He's playing it so low key that it seems like bad acting at times. The little girl who plays his daughter is outacting him by a mile! She's a talented little squirt! Reminds me of Drew Barrymore as a child. Overall, it's a better story than I thought it was going to be.
