yuletide, and no one fills the request, and you see it and you go, "I can write that," and you finally decide you're going to do it, and you plot and plan the story all year, and you're finally so very ready, and you get all excited about writing it, and signups start, and that person doesn't request the story this year?
Yeah, that sucks. *sigh*
