My brain has gone totally random. I was sitting in my cubicle working yesterday and suddenly, the brain stopped replaying that "now you're messing with a son of a bitch" song it's been playing since the tune was on "Supernatural" on Thursday, and instead went, "Whyyyyy do you stare at the sky with your bluuuurry eyes?" I haven't listened to any anime music in a LONG time. I couldn't wait to get home to get out my main anime mix cd. Have no idea where this came from, since I haven't even thought about that song for years. Anime songs are so peppy. I had totally forgotten all these songs from the Marmalade Boy ST that Karen let me burn off her cd. Lazy me didn't write down any of the titles, so they got titles like, "Peppy Dance Song That Plays While Girl Runs in the Rain Screaming, 'Senseeeeeeeeeei!'" and "Rain in Love Song." (Rain being my character from SOPI, Rain. The song is just some chick going, "Lala la la la lala lala..." and no other lyrics, and it's all dreamy and you can just see Rain floating around picking flowers and thinking about boys. XD Karen gave it that name, BTW.) My favorite title though is, "Japanese Version of 'Killing Me Softly'" because the song sounds like that freakin' song, but it's not. XD

Anyway, listening to these songs totally takes me back to when Karen and I were friends, and especially to going to A-Kon with her. One year, we drove around and around the parking garage at the hotel where the con was being held looking for a parking space, and Karen put on the Marmalade Boy ST. We must've driven around for a good half hour before we found anything. So hearing those songs puts me right back in that car driving around the parking garage, cheering for anyone who walked by in a cool costume. It's like I can close my eyes and listen, and I can feel the motion of the car and hear the engine, the memory is so strong.

I miss Karen. I miss her dog, Maddie. I miss A-kon. I must go next year.

Saw it on [livejournal.com profile] _aiji_'s journal. Character Meme!

1. Pick one of my characters, any one (even if you don't know their name).
2. I will tell you the origin of his/her name.
3. I will tell you random facts surrounding his/her creation.
4. I will give you a random fact of his/her backstory.
5. I will give you a random fact of his/her forestory.
6. You may ask me up to ten questions about the character. Anything. Really. I'm up for some stupid/obscure/eyebrow-raising questions here.

I don't care if you ask about OC's or canon characters that I've added to and shit. I just like talking about my writing. :) The meme looked fun.

Oh yeah, and the main reason I was posting tonight was to ask this question, then I forgot it. Liquor laws confuse me. I need to know some stuff because I have a scene coming up in a fic in the future that will take place in Harvelle's Roadhouse, which is a place that serves liquor, that will involve a teenage character. Are teenagers even allowed in bars? I ask because when I was 15, my sister and I used to go to clubs all the time to see local bands play, and once we got kicked out of one because of my age. One of the band members was asking us how old we were, and I said 15, and the bar owner freaked and said we had to leave because he'd get arrested for letting a 15-year-old even set foot in his bar because of liquor laws. So how come little dumbhead Jo was hanging around her parent's bar as a kid, like she talked about in her stupid online blog? Why is this bar allowed to have kids hanging around and a real life bar is off limits? Can someone explain this to me? Does it have to do with whether or not an establishment serves food as well? Because kids can go to a restaurant that serves alcohol... I'M SO CONFUSED. I have no idea how to make Ellen react.
