I'm not exactly sure what is causing it, but everytime I try to use my stove, the smoke detector goes off. I don't mean the burners, just the bottom part. I can't even turn it on to bake anything without the thing going off. It's the heat from the stove doing it. It's actually been doing this for a very long time, but I usually cook on the burners so it wasn't bothering me until now. I told the previous owner about it and he never came to do anything about it. I'm sure they'll come do something about it once I complain again, but all this means that I can't cook my pizza right now and I really wanted that pizza. :(
In the past, the smoke detector would just go off when I opened the stove door. Then it would stop within a minute. This time, it started going off before I had even put the pizza in the oven and kept going for a good five minutes. I started shaking, it was so intrusive. SO LOUD. I was afraid it would make the neighbors mad, going off this late at night. I turned the ceiling fan on and aimed the fan at it and it stopped, finally.
I know nothing can be done about it until after Christmas; I've already been told that the office will be closed tomorrow and I'm guessing through Christmas, too. But I want my goddamn pizza so it's getting cooked tomorrow afternoon whether the stupid thing goes off or not. Most people will be at work or at least awake then.
I wish I knew whether or not I could easily remove the thing from the wall. I'm afraid if I touch it, it will go BEEP BEEP BEEP HELLO LAUREL I'M TRYING TO SAVE YOU FROM YOUR PIZZA BEEP!!!!!!!
I saw a commercial for the American version of One Missed Call. The commercial makes it look like a stupid, stupid movie. Which, in some ways, the Japanese version was, but in other ways, it was very entertaining. I want to see the movie and then I just want to wait for it to come out on DVD. Meh, I dunno. Maybe I'll wait for the dollar theatre to get it. There are actually a few movies out right now that look good, but I'm not a "see it in the theatre" kind of person unless I just HAVE to see the movie RIGHT NOW. Movies are so, so expensive these days and hardly ever worth the $ you pay.
Oh, and it looks like they changed the ringtone in the American version, unless the ringtone on the commercial isn't the one in the actual movie. If they did change it, I'm disappointed, and I wonder why they had to do that.
