[livejournal.com profile] spn_fridayfive for this week and last. Spoilers for aired episodes.

1. We've come to love Sam and Dean because we know their motivations and histories and they're usually reason enough to explain how they react to different situations. Do you think you could come to feel the same way about these characters if they were strangers you met in real life? Or would their personalities/attitudes put you off right away?

Dean is the kind of guy I would love to know in real life. There are a bunch of things about his personality I would find attractive - taste in music, sense of humor, appearance (duh), protective and loving but still very macho, and adventurous in bed. Mm mm, gimme. Sam, I'd hang out with because Dean loves him so much. Otherwise, meh.

2. There are incidents where the boys save lives, but end up not taking credit for what they've done due to the supernatural aspects involved in these cases. For which incidents do you think they most deserve credit and why?

They're all pretty equal.

3. Dean wanted to make a big deal about celebrating Christmas this year. Do you think he'll want to ring in the New Year with a bang? Or will he simply let it pass without insisting on any sort of celebration?

I think Dean rings in the new year with a party EVERY year. It's not a religious holiday.

4. As much as the commentary for episodes like Phantom Traveller was interesting to watch, the episode is less eventful than some of the more intense episodes later on. If Jared and Jensen were to do commentary for another episode - any episode that's aired so far - which one would you want it to be, and why?

"Hell House." Because it was a funny episode, and I think Jensen's comments on how bad they did at recreating Richardson would be hilarious.

5. Do you think Sam's rebellious attitude toward the family business, as well as his dysfunctional relationship with his father, comes from the fact that John never told him the truth about hunting and whatnot (he had to learn the truth from Dean)? Or do you have another explanation for how Sam has reacted to the aforementioned senarios?

I think Sam reacted that way because his father was freaking emotionally abusive and neglectful. I'm sorry, John fans, but I can't make excuses for the character just because the actor is cute. John Winchester was a very interesting character, but mostly because he was such a bastard. I know he had a loving side too. But seriously, if I knew someone like that in real life, I'd be outraged and demanding he spend time in jail for the way he neglected his sons.
It's actually extremely weird how heroic I've written the man in fanfics in the past. The character is just very multi-dimensional. When you take him out of the environment of leaving two very young boys home alone for days on end, it becomes much easier to write him sympathetically.
Of course, that doesn't mean that every fic I write of John will be that kind to him.

1.) Of the gag reels from season 1 and season 2 (if you still haven't seen them, you can find them on youtube), which scene was the most memorable to you? Why?

Jensen jumping into Jared's arms. Or Jared farting. Both made me laugh so hard I cried.

2.) Of all the other TV shows and/or movies Jared and Jensen have done, which is your favorite? Why?

Dark Angel. Alec is Jensen's second best character. He's just so lovable and cuddly and "makes you wanna take care of him" and sexy.

3.) How do you feel about fans writing fan fiction (of any rating) that feature Jared and Jensen?

Most of it is okay, but some of it creeps me out. Like when people write about Jensen's dad beating him and/or his sister becoming a prostitute. Those are real people, for cripe's sake. I think when you become a big star on tv, you do give up some of your privacy. But some things cross the line.

4.) What are your feelings about the music on Supernatural? Has it opened your eyes to an entirely new kind of music? Do you suddenly love classic rock? Or is it the classical episodic compositions (by Christopher Lennertz and the like) that have affected you? Or has the music not affected you at all?

I love the music on SPN. I was already a huge metal fan, so it was a big kick to hear MY music on a tv show, FINALLY. The classical stuff is okay. Some of it stood out more than other pieces.

5.) If Supernatural were ever to become popular with the mainstream media (sort of like Grey's Anatomy or CSI is today), how do you think our show would affect the media and potential new viewers? What would you hope potential new viewers consider about Supernatural before and after watching it?

This question wants me to think too much. I think most media coverage would focus on "look how hot they are" and "awwww, the brotherly interaction is so sweet." I just want new fans to enjoy the show? Don't really have anything I want them to consider.
