Dr. Allergy

I like Dr. Allergy! ^_^ He's very nice, and seems to know what he's talking about. He wants to run some allergy tests to find out if I have a definite allergy to any particular thing or if it's more of a general allergy to the WORLD. The nurse asked me two million and one questions about my environment, really interesting questions that I could follow the logic of: do I sleep with a feather pillow or poly, how old is my mattress, do I have lots of stuffed animals, is my bed covered with an anti-allergy cover, do I use a humidifier, do I have pets, do I have any really hairy boyfriends (haha, she didn't really ask that), does drinking beer or wine make my head feel stuffy (it DOES, that's why I don't drink it, besides the fact that it tastes like ass), how old is my apartment building, does sleeping with Skeet Ulrich and Jensen Ackles in the same night make my head feel stuffy (it doesn't, imagine that), does smoke or smog irritate my allergies (I was almost murdered by southern California smog, so yes), and so on. After we do the shift bid this week, I'll know what my new days off are at work, and then I can make the appointment for the skin tests. I have to go off two of my regular medicines for a day or two before the tests because I could have a bad allergic reaction to the tests, and I would need my body's natural defenses to keep me from dying, which my medicines apparently block in some way to keep me from itching and having high blood pressure. Trust me, it makes sense. I can't just go in and have the tests done the same day because of the preparation needed to have them done. We'll know more about where to go next after we get the results of those tests.

The doctor took a stick and ran it along my arm, sort of scratching it but not really, to see what the reaction would be. I STILL have a red welt left behind, even hours afterward. I have little idea what this means, except that my skin seems to be really oversensitive to sticks.
