sailorhathorI am selling some things on Ebay in an effort to make the rent. Medical bills sucked up a bunch of my money this month. I'm not really expecting any of you to want any of this stuff, but maybe someone I don't know is peeking in on my journal or something. More auctions later; I am finally able to do Ebay auctions on this computer, but they take hours to set up because the pages take so long to load.

If I disappear for a few days, this is why: I've had a new lanlord for a few months. He's basically revealed himself to be a scumbag slumlord who doesn't want to provide any maintenance and what not. Now, he doesn't want to provide any air conditioning, either. For some stupidass reason, the city said he doesn't have to turn it on until May 15th, even though the temperature is expected to get up to 87 this week. The man doesn't care that we've got children, elderly women, and at least one sick woman (me!) here; he's not going to turn the a/c on until he damn well pleases. Who knows when that will be. Everyone here has begged the man to be human, but he just keeps acting like an inhuman piece of shit. Apparently, he's too much of an evil dumbfuck to understand that such behavior loses tenants. If I didn't have a lease, I'd be skipping out of here as soon as I could afford it. There doesn't seem to be anything else that anyone can do to make him turn the a/c on until he is required to by law, which means three more possible weeks of, well, hell.
Anyway, if you've never tried to do anything in nearly 90 degree heat inside your dwelling, I'll tell you what it's like: It's unbearable. If it becomes too much to deal with, I'm going to see if I can stay over at Nancy's. But if her brother is still staying with her, I'll probably be stuck right here. There really isn't anyone else I can stay with that I can think of.
If I do get stuck here, and it gets as hot as they've been predicting on the news, I probably won't get shit done on those days. Being overheated like that tends to make me sluggish, sleepy, and irritable. So, whatever, we'll see what happens. Just another chapter in the Life Shits All Over Laurel ensucklopedia. At least today only got up to 81. *shew* Never been so glad to spend most of my day at air-conditioned work.
