Sailor Moon

sailorhathorIs there anyone out there who still gets a big ol' happy for "Sailor Moon"? 'Cause I still get all excited and bouncy when the transformation music starts up and you know the girls are going to kick some ass.
I was transferring SM R to DVD and the last few episodes weren't very good picture quality, so I transferred a few dub episodes just so I have the same episodes on DVD with a better picture. When you watch a few episodes in Japanese with subtitles and then watch those same episodes dubbed into English by DiC, it's PAINFUL. I swear, once in every 50 Japanese episodes, I go, "God, shut up, you're irritating!" to some random character for their voice. With the English dubbed eps? It's once EVERY EPISODE. Where did DiC get some of these people? And the overdose of ridiculous slang...! Good lord. Everyone's a "negadweeb."
A few of the main characters did a good job, though. Occasionally, they get off a good joke. Like, when Wise Man tells Wicked Lady that it's time to leave, and she replies, "You're the Wise Man." I thought that was clever. :D
One character that suffers horribly in the translation is Yuichiro. I loooove Yuichiro, could care less about Chad. Yuichiro is sweet, adorable, shy, and endearing, and I want Rei to love him and give him a ton of babies. Chad, meh, who cares. The goofy surfer accent somehow ruins him. I want to write the story of how Rei finally returns Yuichiro's love. (Who knows when I'll ever write it, but that's not the point.) Rei/Yuichiro, I can see. Raye/Chad? Not in a million years. Btw, is it Yuiichiro, or Yuichiro? I've seen it both ways. If no one knows, I'll just have to do me some looking up.

Before my vacation is over, I WILL write something. Work has stressed me out lately with how busy it's been and how many calls I receive per day that are people yelling at me, and it's somehow shut down my brain. Like, I know exactly what I want to write, but when I go, "Okay, time to write!" my brain goes, "I don't waaaannaaaa tyyyyype..." I have no idea why, because I'm typing RIGHT NOW. 9_9 I may have to handwrite it just to get me started. Stupid brain, you go squish now! 9_6
