BOOM BOOM BOOM
Jul. 16th, 2003 04:48 pmI had a weird experience today when I was awakened by a very loud, weird noise in the house. It sounded like someone had a hold of a large piece of furniture and was banging it against the wall. So I got up to check on the noise, and no one else was here. My dad got home a few minutes later; he had no idea about the noise and didn't make it. It was most likely just an auditory hallucination--I have those a lot these days, where you're halfway between being awake and asleep, and you think you hear something that sounds very real, but it didn't happen at all. It just freaked me out because my dad got home so soon after it happened, I was convinced it had something to do with him. But it was just a coincidence.
I couldn't go back to sleep after that, so I'm sure I'll be getting very sleepy later tonight. I wonder if these kinds of hallucinations have anything to do with elevation. I don't remember having them when I lived downstairs. Since I moved back upstairs, I have them quite often. Kaye told me she used to have them when she lived in a 2-story apartment, and slept upstairs. (She always heard someone coming in her apartment, which woke her up, then there was no one there.) So I do wonder if sleeping on an upper floor adds to your likelihood of having them. They're actually quite normal, I read somewhere, as a certain percentage of the population have these kinds of hallucinations.
In a side note, Mynda is the Goddess of the Week for telling me about this wonderful pop-up killer program. Ohmygod this thing works so well! I breezed right through Bravenet and a geocities site last night!!
