Before I start, I just wanted to thank those of you who are there for me when I need someone to lean on. You know who you are. Of all the things I don't have, I'm glad I have you. (I hope that makes sense and doesn't sound as strange as it does while I'm reading it over.) *Hugs*

Okay, I'm half asleep and fighting it because I want to actually get something done today, but I'll probably just give up and go to bed. Before I do, I shall squee about the season premiere of "Supernatural." There will be spoilers for the episode ahead. Duh.

I was pleasantly surprised with all the things I liked about this ep because the spoilers I read kinda bothered me, but enough things changed between sides/spoilers and the actual thing that I wound up being happy with most of it. First, I was pissed that Dean would be brought back by someone else, not Sam, but they pretty much covered that by saying that Sam had been trying and trying for the last four months. And Sam was upset that it *hadn't* been him who brought Dean back. The spoilers made me think that Sam had just given up.

There were two things that I was really disappointed/pissed over:

1). I want Original!Ruby back. I know that they let Katie go because keeping her would be too expensive, but I'd rather that Ruby the character just never come back instead of her inhabiting a new body. The new actress didn't impress me at all. Yeah, we haven't seen much of her yet, but it just really made me miss Katie's Ruby. She was really good at being a bitch, and this new girl... I'm doubtful she can pull it off as well. I might be able to deal with a new Ruby if I liked the actress as well as Katie. So far, I don't. It's like when they replaced Darren on "Bewitched"... the new Darren just wasn't as good. "SAAAM!"

To top it off, they insinuated that Sam was sleeping with the new Ruby. I guess they could always say later that he's not, but why is the woman taking off her bra and walking around in her panties if they aren't sleeping together? Were they living together? Wha? I swear, I will be so pissed if Sam waited to fuck Ruby until she got into a different body. Katie just had so much chemistry with Jared for me and if he's going to screw a Ruby, I want it to be THE Ruby, not a poor substitute. I really think, at this point anyway, that they made a big mistake trying to bring Ruby back by just having her possess a new body. Seems that they think that just anyone can play the character. But really, Ruby's personality shouldn't change because she possesses a new girl; she should be the same. With her being played by a new actress, she didn't seem the same at all.

And don't give me that Ruby had to find a new body because the old one died once Lilith left it. If Meg can keep her body alive after falling out a window, Ruby could just pop back into her old body and revive it. I find it more than believable enough that a demon could reanimate a dead body by just possessing it.

Meh, whatever. I wasn't suprised that Christy turned out to be Ruby's new meatsuit since so many people guessed it already.

2). I am quite aware that static on a television as a sign that the tv is going crazy/something supernatural is coming has been done before for many, many years in tv and movies. But you have to understand that to say I am obsessed with the Ringu/The Ring series of movies is an understatement. So, for me, static on the television is a sign that Sadako and/or Samara are coming or watching you. Static on the tv is a Ring schtick and no one else is allowed to use it, as far as I am concerned. Yeah, I know that no one is going to pay attention to that when they make tv shows, I'm just saying that it makes me go grrr when I see someone else use it now. I'm even a big fan of the movie Poltergeist, which used static on the tv quite heavily, but largely for the same reason - to indicate a portal for ghosts and communication with them. So I know that Castiel's attempts to communicate with Dean causing the tv to go nuts makes sense. I still didn't like it. I guess I just want it to be Sadako and Samara's "thing" from now on.

Another thing, I really wanted Sam to break down crying when he first saw Dean was alive. That's what I think would have really happened. (Like how Sam bawled when Dean died.) But I guess they just didn't want to have that reaction this time, especially since Ruby was there.

Now, the things I REALLY liked and think have great potential:

1). I was REALLY shocked when Sam raised his hand to the demon-possessed girl. I thought, what the hell is he doing? Is he Lilith? Then I realized that Sam was using his powers! I had NO idea that was going to happen. COOL. Let me make the distinction that I'm not into Evil!Sam. I like Psychic!Sam. WOW. How is Dean going to react the first time he sees Sam do that? *evil little giggle* Oh, Sammy, Sammy, Sammy.

I'm interested to see where this will go.

2). I'm SO, SO very glad that Castiel turned out to be something else than another demon. That idea was too expected. For him to be some type of angel is infinitely cooler. Of course, I know he could be lying, but the fact that Ruby's knife didn't work on him makes me think that he's telling the truth. I hope that he does turn out to be a good angel in the end. I love that he's more like a Biblical angel than the goodie-two-shoes "Touched by an Angel" type of angel, that there were darker aspects of his manifestation on Earth. I'm not an expert on angel lore, but I have read and heard enough to find it believable that the true visage of an angel would be something most living people could not view. And I love that this is being done to Dean, someone who currently has little faith.

If they're going to have angels on this show, I definitely prefer that they be badass angels. XD That sounds kind of funny, but I think you understand what I mean. Those huge, majestic wings that appeared in shadow behind Castiel... eeeeee! BTW, did they just make up that name? I did a Google search and found no real lore about any angels named Castiel.

Maybe Castiel is going to help Dean save Sam from his potential to do evil because of whatever Azazel did to him. Maybe Castiel will battle some badass angels of Hell. OOOOH, I HOPE so. I'm really hopeful that this season will be good now.

I'm really into the idea of angels of Hell as a literary tool. They get to be terrible and fearsome with those gorgeous wings without having to be boring like the typical "guardian angels" you see on tv. (Pretty much why I turned Edge into an angel, hehe.)

I laughed so hard at Pam coming on to Dean, then coming back and telling Sam that he could join in too. Girl after my own heart. XD

Why don't people holding seances on tv ever do a protection spell first? Poor Pam probably could have totally avoided having her eyes burned out of her skull if she'd just taken the time to ask for protection. She knew she was dealing with something big; it brought Dean back from the dead! There were safer ways to do that. So, protection spell might've protected her from her own conceit. Something "the best psychic" in the area should have known. :P Oh well, it was a cool scene and a cool effect, but I'm always frustrated with the writing on these kinds of shows because they rarely seem to do some very simple research. It makes the "supernatural experts" look like big dummies.

Speaking of big dummies, I can't believe that Dean summoned Castiel and that Bobby helped him. I'm not saying it was out of character at all. Just that Dean was so desperate to know what brought him back from the dead that he took a very risky, stupid chance. Let's all smack him around for that one! *Smack smack smack spank spank spank* Hrm. I just can't smack him around. He's Dean. It always turns naughty.

Sam is now keeping so many secrets from Dean. I want him to just spill it all already. I don't like them having so many secrets from each other.

Hee, I liked that once Dean got out of the grave, he was hungry and the first thing he eats is a candy bar. :D My kinda guy. That was very realistic, that he had trouble speaking at first. Nice detail. Also liked how befuddled Castiel seemed to be by Dean's reaction to him, how he just couldn't believe. It seemed more in character for an angel of "the Lord" to act like that than to be sarcastic like the demons usually are. Oh! More proof that Castiel isn't a demon - he walked right through the Devil's Trap on the floor. I want a screencap of Castiel with his wings.

I think that's everything I want to say.
