My vacation may be extended! I got a call today to call and talk to the head of the call center about setting up a mandatory employee meeting Friday. Mandatory employee meetings for everybody, in groups. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they're closing the call center and they're going to tell us we're laid off. All the signs all there. Most recently, they opened a call center in Columbia, South America, and brought some of them up here to learn how to take Canadian calls. That was pretty much the last frontier in terms of outsourcing every kind of call we take. I'd actually be really surprised if the meeting is about anything else.

It's not such a horrible thing. I didn't like my job anyway. Being laid off, I can go on unemployment, and they should give me at least 2 weeks serverance pay. Unemployment lasts, what, six months? I can find an adequate job in that time. I should be okay. It's not like I have anyone else to be responsible for, just me.

Still, I'm apprehensive. O_o I just want to know what it is already.
