Welcome to Mexico. Be careful.
Nov. 9th, 2008 10:49 pmI've been working for GH for four years and I've never gotten one free ticket. So I was thinking of getting one to visit Monterrey, Mexico for a day to go shopping, maybe in February. Now, I won't be able to stay overnight, and I won't buy much since I owe people money that will be paid back first, but really I just want to look for cheapie dolls and curio cabinets like you can only find in Mexico. What I want to know is has anyone reading this ever been to Monterrey? Can you give me an idea how close the Greyhound station is to shopping and a place that would have food?
This is, of course, only if GH will give me a ticket I can use after I'm laid off from there. But if I can do it, I want to know what I'm getting into before I go. If I can't walk to some place where I can shop, it's not worth going. I've searched for info on the internet and not been able to find anything. It would be ideal if there was a Canada store right there. (If you haven't been to Mexican border towns, many of them have stores called Canada where they have all sorts of cheap, neat tourist goods. Yes, you can go to Mexico to shop in Canada. ((A joke my dad and I delighted in, teehee.)) They have THE BEST stuff.) And no, GH has no helpful information on this.
I haven't had an actual vacation for two 1/2 years. I'd so love to go.
