I am forever cursed to like things only a very select few like. I saw Lady in the Water tonight. I loved it. I love how fantasy elements were thrust into a completely modern setting; I don't usually like traditional fantasy unless something like this is done. M. Night Shyamalan movies often have great big gaping holes somewhere in the narrative, but the style in which they are done is so hypnotic for me that I'm often willing to overlook them. For some reason, this story reminded me of a book I remember reading when I was a kid about a girl who actually dug a hole to China in her backyard. I've always wanted to write something that was in that spirit. So, screw everybody, I liked it. ;)
