I think that things are going to be okay. There was a lot of activity at my building today, and they eventually removed the signs that said the electricity would be shut off on Monday. The office still isn't open, but I didn't think the city would stand for this "the electricity will be shut off for non-payment of service" shit. I'll still be a little jumpy about it until Monday comes and goes with me still having electricity.
I'm packing, though. Once I have a new job and a couple of paychecks under my belt, I'm outta here. It's not like I have a lease. My lease was up at the end of July. They've made little effort to actually get me to sign a new one. The girl in the office has changed twice in the last two months, and each time I've gotten "oh, we need to figure out how much your rent will be now, I'll get back to you" or "I don't have any blank leases, I'll let you know when I have one made up for you." This could work in my favor.
When I got up today, I felt pretty damn shitty, and within a few hours, I had a lot of trouble breathing. I asked my sister to take me to the emergency room. Bronchitis. I think it's safe to say now that it's chronic. (But once I have health insurance again, I'll see an ENT and confirm it.) I now have antibiotics. While I was working for BOA, I put in for health insurance. When you do that, you get a health savings card or whatever you'd call it with money on it that you can only use for health expenses (medicine, doctor visits, etc). I thought when I was let go that the card would become useless, but apparently, that's not the case. They kept sending me letters saying that I had $600 on my card. So, I activated it before my sister came to get me and used it to buy all my medicine. Color me shocked. I wish I had known that it would definitely work, I would have gone to a Care Now clinic instead of the emergency room. Oh well.
My sister brought my nephew Tyler with her. He's been sick but was feeling much better today. He's so freakin' adorable and rambunctious, and he just smiles and laughs at me every time I see him. ^_^ He made me feel much better while I was around him.
I'll probably go to bed after "Supernatural." Still very tired.
