- I finally got my DVD-Rom installed! I bought this thing on sale back in 2005 and could never get around to installing it. Got a bug up my butt today and put it in. I almost gave up because I couldn't get the old CD-Rom out, but then as I was trying to put the cover back on, my hand slipped and pushed off one corner of the front panel. Which I didn't know was removable. O_O So I pulled the whole thing off and the CD-Rom slipped right out the front. XD Put the DVD-Rom in, tadaaaaa! I haven't figured out how to play DVD's yet, though. WMP says I need a "DVD decoder" (software) but I would think that came with the driver. Oh well, I'll figure it out. I WAS able to figure out how to burn mp3's onto a disc, though. ^____^ I'm listening to the first CD I made with it right now! Now I can get all these mp3's off my hard drive, eeeee! And I've got two million trillion pictures on here that I can burn onto discs and clean off my put-upon hard drive. Yeeee! *grabs your hands and dances around with you*
Only weird thing is, since I installed this thing, the speakers won't work. The sound comes out the back of the computer. When I plug the speakers into the appropriate jack, there's no sound. Where the hell is the music coming from if not the speakers?? O_o But they're definitely not working. I'm not so discomboobulated that I can't tell where sound is coming from.
Edit: I decided to try the speakers again just now and they just randomly started working again. ^_^
Waaaah I'm so tired. I hate recovering from bronchitis almost as much as having it. I slept enough, but I'm still pooped. Wanna stay up and play with my new toy.
