Can't think of a subject
Jan. 1st, 2010 05:09 pmAhh, got ya Emma! I knew you wrote the story. *point point* :)
For Yuletide, I wrote She Need the Money Real Bad, a John Carpenter's Vampires: Los Muertos story for
shetiger. I'm glad you liked it. ^_^ I'm sorry it couldn't be "American Idol," but I don't even know who Jim Cantiello is ^_^;;, so I felt completely out of my element on that one. V: LM is a painfully obscure fandom; I appreciate you pimping out the story a couple times to try to get people to give the movie a chance. I can't help loving it. Jon Bon Jovi as a vampire hunter? WUFF.
I'm especially happy that I finally wrote my first V: LM story. I've been wanting to for quite a few years, but just didn't have the right motivation. Now that it's done, maybe I can write more.
Oh no. Temptation. Right after I finish
crossbigbang, they open
au_bigbang. Fusion, hmmm? What's a fusion? Oh, THAT'S a fusion. HMMMMMMM. Oh crap. Brain working. Another painfully obscure fandom. Another story hardly read by anyone except the diehards. Sigh. Oh well.
Supernatural/Land of the Lost (1974) fusion! Altered SPN peeps thrown into Altrusia! Forest Ranger John Winchester and his sons, Sam and Dean, and their 1967 Chevrolet Impala fall through a fog bank and end up in an alien world, and Sam is wearing a red checked shirt over his t-shirt while Dean wears a grey-blue one and also has on really tight corduroy jeans, MUAHAHAHAAHA. Okay, that's only funny to me. Doing it anyway! John Winchester's shirt doesn't fit right, the buttons are always really strained. Hee. And he's really overdramatic, with a fantastic 70's perm. (Okay, not doing the perm.) Weeeee! I'm gonna have fun writing this one, with all the badass sci-fi shit LotL provided.
I know I've done this before, but I must do it again: "Land of the Lost" (1974) was a really, really, REALLY awesome science fiction show. It gets so much flack because it was made by Sid and Marty Krofft, so people expect it to be the same as their other shows. But IT'S NOT. It had some of the most excellent sci-fi concepts I have ever seen, spookyass stuff and freakin' scary lizard men called Sleestax. Every person I've ever known who watched the show as a kid was terrified of the Sleestax. But with movies like the 2009 LotL with effing Will Farrell being put out, the show will never get the respect it desperately deserves. Now, I admit, some of the stuff on the commercial for that movie did make me laugh, but that's not what I want out of a LotL movie, really. I want more badass, spooky sci-fi shit! More people half-stuck through walls while trying to move across dimensions! More red glowing people walking around saying cryptic shit! More scary, hissing lizard men! More sarcastic men made of lights! More sarcastic monkey men! More Enik! More Pylons! More powerful crystal matrix tables! More ghost Hollys floating around, pursuing their alternate selves! More, more, MOOOOORE!!
I'm going to have fun with this. ^_^ I may be the only one, but I don't care. Just like Johnny.
I need a place to remind myself of what fanfic challenge stories I have yet to complete; here it be!:
spn_apocasmut,
spnchallenges,
spn_fs_exchange (I've settled on a pairing for this one, yaaay),
au_bigbang once I sign up, and a
yuletide New Year's Resolution story (I joined in the betting pool for how many stories the archive would wind up with in the end, and someone else was closer, so write I will! I think I know just what request to fill too... muhahaha...)
