Aug. 31st, 2010 11:36 pm...which will probably just be me discussing "Supernatural" with myself, since most of you seem to be avoiding spoilers or something.
Speculation on Supernatural season 6, based on spoilers we already know. So, SPOILERS. Duh.
What we know is that somehow, Grandpa Campbell will be returning, along with a new cousin for Sam and Dean (Christian). The YED also makes some sort of appearance.
There are only a couple of ways I can see this happening. Either Samuel Campbell is somehow brought back from the dead, or Sam and Dean go back in time again and meet up with him in some way.
If Samuel Campbell is brought back from the dead, how does this happen? And does his resurrection bring back the YED by accident, kinda like how bringing Buffy back from the dead brought that ghost creature thing into the world in s6? Like, because the YED possessed Samuel, he somehow rides Samuel back into the world? If this is the way they go, I hope 1). that Christian is the one who brings him back to life with a spell or something; I just think it will be interesting, and 2). that the YED doesn't stick around for long. I can't think of anything more boring than Sam and Dean fighting the YED AGAIN. Come on, there have got to be lots of interesting monsters left for them to fight. There's no reason to keep rehashing.
If it's a time travel thing, I hope Sam and Dean don't STAY there. A giant, permanent time jump can often kill my interest in a show entirely. (Hello, XENA.) Time jumps can be fun for fanfic, but that's because fanfic isn't the actual show; it's a story that ends long before an entire season of television. It would change the show way too much for me. But I don't see how else Samuel can be a recurring character if he's not brought back to life in 2010. I mean, what are they going to do, time jump every 3-4 episodes?
And WHERE ARE THE PICTURES OF CORIN FROM 6.01???? Isn't he supposed to be in that episode??? I WANT PICS OF CORIN!!! *huffs* I'm dying to see how they made him up as a hunter. *stomps feet* >:(
I also realized that if Sam tells my Big Bang from his first person POV, I can't write sex scenes in graphic detail. Because I just can't see Sam writing graphic sex. "That's right, I'm Sam Winchester. Say my name, bitch!" Uh, no. He'd consider it crude. Unlike Dean, who would write it in blushingly graphic detail (if he wrote up stories at all). While Sam comes off as more aggressive during sex and Dean more gentle, the way they would tell the story of what happened would be totally different. Oh well, less work for me! ;) No, seriously, I could see Sam writing it in a more romanticized, edited way in order to be respectful to his partner. I can deal with that.
