Supernatural 6.03 Reaction
Oct. 9th, 2010 03:08 pmMy reactions to SPN 6.03 "The Third Man" (no one objected to my using episode titles outside a cut, so's I will!).
SPOILERS
I declare this The Episode you Should Never Watch While High. Not that I was high, but I can just imagine how it would affect you if you were, if it can almost give me motion sickness. :D
- CAS, SLOW DOWN. XD It was kinda funny how Cas kept flying around and how they edited it to happen so quickly, but it also made me go GAAAAAH. XD You can tell they had fun with that. I was over there, but now I'm over here! Haha! Where is Sigfried? Hello Roy!
- Apparently, Sammy is now BUYING HOOKERS. XD No, seriously, I'm sure they'll explain what was up with the random chick and Sam giving her money. Did she have a demon vibe for anyone else? Hmmm. I wonder if Sam now has to drink demon blood to live or something. Some sort of aftereffect of everything.
- Speaking of that, HELLO FANSERVICE. I didn't find Jared/Sam attractive when he had his horrible season 1 hair, but since he's let it grow out a lot, I now want to jump his bones. Him standing there without a shirt and that boyish look upon his face - WUFF! AWOOOOOOO! Lo likey. Lo have only TV boyfriends and she horny. Lo look for screencaps later.
- The beginning really confused me for a minute until I realized where Sam and Dean were and where they had come from. Have they ever mentioned where the Campbell family compound is? City and state? So, Dean went from there to see Lisa, then was heading back. In the meantime, Sam went to Pennsylvania for their next case. Ah, now I have it straight.
- Is there any way we can take up a collection for Jensen to do porn? Who's with me? That man kisses like BURNING. Even if I'm not finding Lisa very attractive, it was still HOT. See, this is one of the problems with a relationship that is built up over a time jump - I'm not feeling any of the chemistry or emotional bond between Dean and Lisa, which would probably help.
- Dean playing Daddy from the road? Not digging it. It just came off as ridiculous for me. I'll be looking forward to the day he and Lisa break up for good. I mean, I know there are people who travel a lot for their jobs and have to parent by phone, I'm not knocking that, but it seems silly for someone like Dean to do it. It just doesn't fit well with his character.
- I do really like the idea of the Heavenly weapons being stolen and out there to wreak havoc. I still think the Campbells may have one of them. When they said the Staff of Moses had been "sawed-off," I instantly thought of the Campbells and other hunters, since they often saw off shotguns. It didn't seem like anyone had necessarily helped Balthazar with the Staff, but it's still possible. (Maybe I just want the Campbells to be more relevant than they already aren't!)
- I like Raphael. I would like to see him un-pillarize his vessel and the actor to come back. (That pillar of salt thing was pretty neat, btw.) But, the idea that we've got Civil War in Heaven is a retread of past storylines and I'd rather that it stay in the background. We've already done the Apocalypse. It reminds me of a line from MST3K, where the movie begins showing flashbacks, and Crow goes, "Oh come on! We didn't like these scenes the first time!" SPN's Apocalypse had its moments, but overall, it was kind of lame. I'm not anxious for them to do the same story over again. Whatever they're leading up to, I hope it's different.
- Speaking of retreads, the ending sounded like "Sex and Violence" and season 4 all over again. Can we please not do that? Can we not have another scene where Dean scolds Sam for stupid decisions that he's made? I want these boys to get back to being brothers. The dialogue was really evocative of those old arguments - Dean, you're weak, I'm strong, there's something wrong with how you're reacting to things, Sam. They've already had this exact fight. I really hope the writers are playing some sort of trick on us and not just rehashing their own goddamn dialogue! Just once, I would love it for Dean to turn out to be completely wrong about Sam, if just for the conflict to be different for a change.
- When is someone going to ask about what happened to Adam and Michael? I hope they don't just gloss over that.
- Haha, I liked Castiel just showing up out of the blue. "He's right behind me, isn't he?" Then Cas and Sam had a growly voice contest, for some reason. XD
- More fanservice! "Dean and I have a more profound bond." It was a little weird for Dean to react as if that wasn't a totally awkward thing to say, though. XD Although, Dean/Cas fanservice aside, they do, really, being that Castiel brought Dean back to life and all.
- Hehheh, "I need myrrh." FWOOSH! Also liked the lines about being a "multi-dimensional wavelength" and "My 'people skills' are a bit 'rusty.'" It was all cute. Like me some awkward Cas.
- The Staff was a pretty neat idea, with the plagues and all. I like the Heavenly weapons, and look forward to whatever else they have planned for that. I'm glad, though, that they didn't Kripke an idea I have for my SPN/Miracles stories, because it very well could have happened there.
- Yaaaay the angels fell on Sam's stupid car. XD That was a pretty building they used for that scene. Oh, and "Were you racing me?" Hee.
- *KABOOOOOM of thunder* "Was that you?" Hee!
- Heh, frog. Although that whole part was kind of doofy, it amused me for some reason.
- "I pray for Cas to get his feathery ass down here..." Heh. Or however he said it.
Even though I didn't like the retreads, it was a decent episode.
**SPOILERS FOR THE NEXT FEW EPS** Highlight to read. It looks like they are going to reveal what's up with Sam in a couple of eps. As I said, I just hope it's something new that won't leave Sam looking bad. I enjoyed season 4 when it was season 4, I'm not looking for season 6 to be season 4 part II. It also looks like Dean may be breaking up with Lisa for good. Or, at least expressing how much he doesn't want to put her and Ben in danger or taint them with how his life can be. Yay. **SPOILERS FOR THE NEXT FEW EPS**
They kinda scared me with that SOON promo. They usually only do that before a hiatus. We're not having a hiatus this soon, are we? After only 3 episodes? Not from what I've heard, but that was weird.
A little reaction to this week's episode of "Law & Order: Los Angeles." SPOILERS
This was a good ep. My favorite line was, "It must take a SWAT team to get your kids to bed," HEE. I'll have to see what Rex's relationship with his wife is like when things aren't all tense, because they didn't seem to have a lot of chemistry, and Skeet can usually generate chemistry with a fence post, so that was odd. XD I liked the Manson family-like storyline. :) Rex and his partner have nice partner chemistry (not looking for slash here); I like the way they shoot sarcastic one-liners back and forth. :D It won't ever make my top 20 list of favorite shows, but it's okay.
