I'm really tired, but I want to get this recap written anyway. I may forget things here and there.

Supernatural 6.05 "Live Free or Twihard" recap. Will contain spoilers.

Stuff I liked or just want to talk about from this ep:

- All the Twilight jokes were really fun and cute. Especially Dean saying that Edward watching Bella sleep was "rapey," and then he wound up doing the same thing to Lisa. :D
- Love the fact that all the Twilight jokes made some "Twilight" fans all offended and pouty. Learn to laugh at yourselves, ya knuckleheads.
- The vampires' plans to use teenage obsession with "Twilight" and "The Vampire Diaries" to recruit young people to be vampires was really ingenious! I've known people who are total vampire groupies; it could work!
- "You're pretty." Yes he is!
- Lisa finally got a taste of what it's REALLY like to be the girlfriend of a hunter. What she dealt with in the past was nothing compared to what COULD happen, and I don't think she was at all ready for it, ever. I'm not sure what they have planned for those two, but I hope Lisa will redeem herself and put her child first, and cut Dean loose. And that has nothing to do with any dislike I have for her, it has to do with the fact that Dean could have killed them both. You just don't put your child in that kind of danger if you can help it.
- On that subject, I was really shocked by Dean's last words to Lisa. He thinks he's about to die, and he comes to tell Lisa not, "I love you," but "Thank you." "Thank you"???? This is someone he spent a year with, as a couple, acting as a father to her child, and all he can think to say to her before he dies is "Thank you"??? Dean was never in love with this woman. He was just going through the motions, playing House, waiting for something to happen to pull him back into hunting, because I don't think he can be anything but a hunter. You could even make a case that he's actually in love with Sam, and I don't mean romantically, but just that Sam will always be the most important person in his life, even in death. After that, I no longer believe that Dean really dreams of leaving the hunting life and settling down. I never thought that fit him anyway; maybe the writers no longer believe it fits him either.
- Now to Sammy. Sam's plan to allow Dean to be turned so he could infiltrate the vampire nest and get information about their alpha was actually pretty ingenious. The only problem with it was that he didn't tell Dean about it. If Dean had been let in on the plan, they could have avoided a lot of trouble and angst. Sure, it was risky, but also gutsy!
There's something wrong with Sam. We all know that. We all know him standing there smirking as if he likes it while Dean is turned is very, very bad. What's wrong with Sammy?

I don't know, but I'm really anxious to find out. Hopefully, it will be good. I have a couple of theories on what could be going on. Who knows if either will turn out to be true - we shall see! I think it may be that Sam didn't make it out of Hell alone. There could be someone in there with him. Maybe he's even experiencing some sort of multiple personality thing. Whether Sam is aware of this remains to be seen. Perhaps Dean has only been talking to Sam half the time since Sam has been back. Maybe it's been that way with everyone Sam has been interacting with. Or, maybe Sam doesn't know he's possessed, and thinks all these new thoughts running through his head are his own. OR, he knows the other personality is in there, but accepts it because it makes him a "better hunter." The two beings that I think could be in there with Sam is either Lucifer or Michael.

If it's Lucifer, maybe Sam's body is literally Lucifer's cage. Perhaps he's sealed in there, and has lost a great deal of his power because of it. It would explain why Sam has seemed borderline evil at times.

If it's Michael, perhaps the archangel agreed to get Sam out of Hell in exchange for allowing him to stay in Sam's body for some reason we'll find out about in the next ep. Maybe Michael rode him out against Sam's will. If Michael could choose another vessel in the bloodline (Adam), then it doesn't seem such a stretch that he could use Sam as a vessel as well. Who knows what happened to Adam, but I hope he was incinerated and his soul sent to Heaven to be with his mother, finally. The poor kid has been used and abused and just needs his eternal rest already. Anyway, maybe Michael is doing recon, trying to figure out what's the deal with all the monsters going crazy, and is using Sam as a way to spy on the events from the middle of the action. This would also explain why Sam's been such a dick - Michael didn't seem all that nice either.

I know a perfect way to get either entity to leave Sam as well. Trap Sam in a holy oil circle and threaten to pull him through the circle while it's still burning. Castiel said any angel who crossed that circle would instantly die. That would get either of them to leave. This method could even be used to kill Lucifer or Michael if the writers wanted to go that far. Now, I know that technically, Lucifer is a fallen angel, but it still makes sense to me that he could be trapped in one of these circles. Can't wait until Friday to see if any of my theories pan out!
