Holy shit, I had such a bad nightmare about "Supernatural" last night! It was about season 6 and the whole "Sam's lost his soul" thing. In it, Sam's body was beginning to decay without his soul to keep it alive. He started injecting himself with formaldehyde (!!!) to preserve himself until they could get his soul back. True to form, Sam kept this from Dean until Dean found out on his own. I remember this scene of Sam breaking into some sort of medical office with cadavers and stuff to get some more formaldehyde. There was a dead dog on a table and its head was hanging from the ceiling. EEEEEEEEEK! Dean caught him in there and they had a big fight.

In a later scene, Sam started to decay rapidly (!!!) and had to rush to inject himself. It was like a scene from one of those zombie movies, the way he looked, and he was choking and screaming while trying to get the needle in his arm. Some guy caught it on camera and was threatening to take it to the news. Sam and Dean seemed to believe that this would expose them, as if the TV viewing public would accept it was real, and they got really upset.

Next scene, the formaldehyde had done something to Sam's brain and he was acting like a wild animal. Dean had tied him to the bed (not very well; Sam kept thrashing around until he fell off) until he could figure out what to do next. For some reason, Sam was dressed in only boxer shorts. Will my libido really go that far to get a little beefcake? Looks that way.

Anyway, Dean got drunk and called Bobby up, crying. Bobby came to help and he was yelling at Dean for getting drunk. Dean couldn't stop crying. Bobby kept trying to help him get up off the floor and he was like a rag doll, lying limply across the end of the bed and just sobbing for his brother. Bobby called Ellen (because in dreamland, she can be alive even when it makes no sense for her to be) and let her listen to Dean crying so she'd want to come help.

This is when I woke up. I think it'd actually make a decent story. I'm a sucker for a good "feral Sam" and "Dean has a complete breakdown" story. :D

I haven't talked about the last two SPN eps yet because with the break this week, it seemed like there was plenty of time and all. Guess I'll talk about them now.

Spoilers for "All Dogs Go to Heaven," of course.

I was a little underwhelmed with this episode. It was alright, but kinda meh.

- First off, I read about skinwalkers on the internet years ago and thought the stories sounded pretty cool, so I was looking forward to this ep. Finally, they were doing skinwalkers! And it was all guys turning into dogs off camera and not a single one of them was Native American. I was disappointed. I mean, I get that any supernatural legend can spread to other races, but the skinwalker legend started with the Native Americans, and it just seemed wrong for there not to be even one NA skinwalker, or a wise old medicine man to give Sam and Dean advice and tell Sam hey, you know your soul's gone, right? I know it would have been a bit cliche, but in this case, I would have enjoyed a cliche.
- In those stories I read on the net, I found one where a guy described in horror how he had seen a skinwalker transform from man to animal (or it may have been the other way around) and it was just this bloody, screaming blob of flesh in the bathtub while it changed. He said it was terrifying and he would never forget it. I thought WOW, COOL, I want to see something like that! And instead, I get these bad 1970's children's show effects where everyone transforms off camera with a wet crackly sound. I felt like I was watching "Bigfoot and Wildboy." Even with the awful werewolf effects from "Heart," I still only expect bad effects from TV shows of the past, not "Supernatural." And please don't respond with the ol' "the CW cut their effects budget" excuse; I've been hearing that for years. One awesome transformation sequence wouldn't have hurt them (and I would have been happy with that).
- I felt sorry for the one skinwalker who was living with that woman and her son. Okay, yeah, I understand why she kicked him out, but I still felt bad for him. He just seemed so lonely and pathetic.
- This ep made me severely dislike the "Sam has no soul" storyline. I know Sam can't help it, but it really hurt to hear him say all that stuff about how he doesn't care about anyone, not even Dean. Dean's reaction to it not only hurt, but it makes me bounce back and forth between understanding how Dean feels and being mad at him for not getting that Sam can't help it. The no soul storyline was tedious for me before it even started. I just want it over already. I don't feel like it was the kind of storyline that should have been carried over for several episodes. The writers have been teasing us for two seasons now about how Sam and Dean are going to get back to being brothers again, and as soon as it looks like they are, the writers create yet another conflict that breaks them up. And it's always Sam doing something he shouldn't and hiding it from Dean. And of course, Dean knows something is up the whole time. Repeat. I don't get why they think it's good to recycle their own storylines in increasingly less interesting ways.
- It also bothered me how Dean didn't seem to give a shit if Crowley did get angry at them and either keep Sam's soul or throw Sam back in the pit in retaliation. As long as they were going to shoot all the skinwalkers, why not capture one and give it to Crowley, and keep Sam at least somewhat safe in the process? That's the whole reason they agreed to work for him in the first place. I don't care if it's "not right;" it's just as right as Dean making a deal with a demon to bring Sam back to life. Dean has gotten this habit of making too many self-righteous speeches lately, and it's getting on my nerves. I'd really like it if somebody would give him what for.

Spoilers for "Clap Your Hands if You Believe."

This ep was really funny. Not as funny as some other humor eps they've done, but funny. I think I spent more time going WTF?!?! than laughing, really, because it had more than its share of crack! :D

- It was nice that they put Misha in those silly X-Files opening credits, but it did make some of us think he was actually going to be in the episode. Then, he wasn't. :( Awww.
- Patrick! Patrick! Patrick! Patrick? Patrick! Patrick! Patrick! Patrick? Patrick! Patrick? Patrick! Patrick! Patrick! SHUT UP ALREADY! YOU'RE NOT GOING TO FIND PATRICK. I felt like I was watching Poltergeist III and Carolanne's name had been changed to Patrick.
- I did find soulless and tactless Sam to be pretty funny in this episode. It looked like Dean was finally starting to understand that Sam can't help it. He got off a lot of funny lines, about close encounters of the fourth kind being "butt stuff" and how that one guy sucks at hunting UFO's and all that. Also laughed at how concerned Sam was for getting another beer, but instead of being worried about what's happening to Dean, he seemed more excited. Oh, the aliens are kidnapping my brother, neat! XD I still want Sam to get his soul back, but it was fun for just this one episode.
- Um... I'm not really into stories where people get kidnapped by fairies. I'm sorry, it's silly and it makes me laugh. So Dean actually getting taken by them and now he "belongs" to them... it was a bit too cracky for me. I've been socialized into thinking of fairies as cute, tiny little things that sprinkle happy fairy dust around, and elves cobble toys for Santa. When people try to sexualize either creature, I can't help it, I roll on the floor laughing. I don't think I'll ever get past it. However, I am absolutely shocked that I have not seen even one "Dean services Oberon, King of the Faeries" fic since last Friday.
(Well, now that I think about it, there was one time I was able to buy an elf as a regular-sized person with pointy ears who does not make toys for Santa, and that was in the "Land of the Lost" RPG I played in for a few years in the late 90's. That was a special circumstance where it didn't come off as silly to me. "Elfquest"-style stuff does usually come off a bit more serious, but I'm still not that interested in it for the most part.)
- I thought the suicidal teddy bear was as cracky as this show was ever going to get. And then the fairies...
- They serviced Libidon, Queen of Laurel's Brain, when they showed the hippie chick lying on top of Sam, both of them naked and kissing. MY but he's a BIG BOY. ^_______^
- They cracked me up when Sam put his hand on Dean's leg in a show of "I'm here for you, you go ahead and tell me what those bad ol' aliens did to you," and Dean gave him an absolutely horrified look. XD
- Hehheh, I liked when Dean said that he started shooting at the fairies and they freaked out and sent him back. "I don't think anyone's ever done that before." Hee!
- First What the Fucking Fuck?! Moment: When the little fairy comes into the room and starts punching Dean in the face. XD I was almost too stunned to laugh. Then the Gremlins ref when Dean traps her in the microwave and blows her up. Her little fairy voice, hee!
- "Your brother was taken by the aliens?" "Yes, but I'm okay. I've had time to adjust." "How long has he been missing?" "Thirty minutes."
- "Can I laugh now?"
- "Do you have bigger cups?"
- What did Sam say when he said, "It looks like ????? threw up in here"?
- "Dean... did you service Oberon, King of the Fairies?" Hee! There's our Sammy, teasing his big brother (I'd like to think).
- Second What the Fucking Fuck?! Moment: When Dean goes into the watchmaker's workshop and sees many little elves cobbling away. Again, too stunned to laugh. XD
- This episode made me want to imitate Stewie Griffin and go, "SAY WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!" at least five times.
- Dean tackling the little person... I can't believe they went there. "Cornball" doesn't even begin to describe how cornball that was.
- The dude who played the leprechaun was actually pretty menacing. He did a great job.

You know what I would find really funny? If after Sam gets his soul back, he's so syrupy sweet to Dean and cries so much that Dean wants him to lose his soul again. XD At least for one ep. Really, though, I'd like it if Sam's a little messed up emotionally for a bit after he gets his soul back. Like, I wouldn't say no to Sam having a complete breakdown when he first gets his soul back - he has been trapped in Hell for a long time. If he comes back instantly sane, I'll be disappointed.

I would like to yap about spoilers from the next two episodes, but not until I upload some pics from 6.10 so I can refer to them. So, later. :)
