I'm sorry, I get so few reviews for my writing that I can't help but highlight it when I get a really good review, especially on Fanfiction.Net. Usually FF.net is a cesspool of insipid comments, but this review made me smiiiiiiiile.
Review of Tuck Those Ribbons Under Your Helmet:
How do you make explicit smut so darn beautiful? I don't know if that's the right adjective, but I can't exactly think of how to describe your fic. I was hesitant to click on this story since it was going to be full of taboos=incest, homosexuality, and angel-human relations-but I tried it anyway.
I was astounded by how to wove so many complex feelings into these chapters. It was intensely passionate during Castiel's scenes, which was
gratifying since everyone else seems to write about him in a subdued manner (he is an angel). I think what got me here was your ability to write about said taboos that didn't make me cringe with disgust. I mean, I was conflicted, but I couldn't help but feel sorry for the Winchester siblings. Incest seemed like just another form of self-sacrifice and I felt for them. I think Sam's
approach was heart-rending.
Yeah. I really liked how you could induct us into this incredibly passionate scene, and then yank us out into the awkward, painful consequences, but still keep it bittersweet. Amazing.
By the way, you wrote a very plausible "Winsister." She never seemed out-of-place within the brother dynamics. Instead, she added a new dimension to them, unlike the other fics who clearly mutilate the relationship purely
for juvenile "fuzzy" feelings.
"Going back in the room, Castiel took a seat on the lounging chair and sat back to rest. He watched over his charges in silence for the rest of the night."- This was one of my favorite lines. It really portrays how much of a
guardian Castiel is to the Winchesters. He looks after them in every way.
Yeeeeeeeee! The best part is that my Winsister is plausible. I try really hard to make them seem like real sisters and not just there to be a sex toy or replacement for Sam in Dean's heart. :)
