Back in Texas
May. 10th, 2011 09:35 amUpdate! Like I said, I came back to Texas. It's for good. Reason? Basically because I was extremely homesick to the point that I couldn't get it out of my head. Other places are nice for visiting, but Dallas is my home.
I did try pretty hard to get a job in Daytona Beach, and if I'd gotten one, I would have taken it. I'm grateful to Deejay and Candy for coming to get me in Port Saint Lucie and putting me up, and everything they did for me. But even if I'd gotten a job there, I'm not sure I wouldn't have moved back to Dallas at some point in the future anyway. It's hard to describe just how homesick I was and how much I feel I belong here, for better or for worse. So, I helped Deejay and Candy pack and move, and then I headed back to Texas. I guess I needed the perspective of leaving the state and seeing what it was like somewhere else to realize what home means to me. Texas is like a whole other planet; no place else has ever had the same feeling. Laurel phone hooooome.
I'm staying with Nancy right now. She said that my note about being homesick and wanting to come back was so forlorn that she had to help me. I'm going to get back on my feet and make it work.
The trip back on Greyhound was uneventful until Jackson, MS where they couldn't get a driver for hours. I eventually made it home, though, half dead and dirty. :P Classic Greyhound trip.
My sibs don't know I'm back yet. My brother didn't even want me to come back. Too bad. Now WHERE'S MY FUCKING STUFF?
There's no way I can catch up on my friends list, which I haven't read since Thursday. If anything exciting happened that you want me to read, please point it out to me. :) Otherwise, I'm starting from the time that I'm putting up this post and reading on.
