The job has decided to take me on permanently. \o/ Today I learned how to sign up for benefits and got my cheapie local bus pass. They pay for part of a yearly bus pass, which costs me about a third of what it would usually cost, and comes out of my paychecks so I barely feel it. (Although, Greyhound gave me a FREE yearly bus pass. For DART *and* Greyhound travel. Humph.) I also am now earning vacation, sick, and PTO pay, as well as a floating holiday for every quarter. I've decided to ask for the day after my birthday off so I can take a three-day holiday. ^_^
The medical benefits kinda suck, IMO, because the affordable plan has a $1500 deductible which I have to pay out of pocket after the job pays the first $400. Which means I have to find a new doctor who doesn't charge over $100 for a general office visit, or that $400 could be gone in a few months. (I want to go see a specialist about my sinus/breathing problems; I imagine that will result in multiple visits.) What happened to the high deductible plan being the bad one? Now the plan with co-pays costs over $200 a month out of my paychecks! SHIT, when did that happen? Definitely can't afford that. Oh well. Better than nothing, I guess. The dental and vision plans are pretty standard.
Oh, and my supervisor told me that among all the agents from all of the call centers, I had the second highest conversion rate for sales last week! I averaged over $300 per sale I made. That's really good. ^_^ I wouldn't mind continuing to do that. :D
