Chwistmas!
Dec. 26th, 2012 02:28 pmThis year, I actually have something to talk about regarding Christmas because I actually got to do something. ^_^
I got back yesterday from spending Christmas with my friend
just_kaye and her family. It was a fun visit. I went over there on Monday morning and spent the night. Kaye gave me two CD's (Tori Amos "Night of Hunters" and Black n' Blue's latest album). Her mom gave me some extra things they had that had belonged to Kaye's dad. I got one of those laptop cooling trays and a camera bag, and I also got to copy some of their computer games onto my computer. Her mom also gave me an extra coffee maker that she had that I had asked for. At work, we sit near Gevalia customer service, and one day a Gevalia person sat cattycorner to me, so I kept hearing her talk about Pumpkin Spice and German Chocolate Cake coffee. It all sounded so good that I wanted to give coffee a second chance and try them.
On Christmas, some of Kaye's relatives came over and they opened presents, including two little girls. They're very cute, but very young and screamy. :D The two-year-old isn't old enough to understand that you have to open all your presents before you play with them; she would start crying when you took a present away from her so she could open the next one. :D The older one got some play lipgloss and she tried every flavor. Very shiny lips. :D I missed having kids around for Christmas.
In the afternoon on Christmas Day, it snowed here what would be considered pretty hard. And it's still sticking, although melting now. The last time we had a white Christmas, if memory serves me, I was 3 or 4. So this is pretty amazing. When Kaye and her mom took me home, the stairs were really slushy and I slipped going back down them to get the rest of my stuff, and did that thing where you keep butt bumping down the stairs because it's slippery and you can't stop yourself. I tried to get up and slipped again, butt bumping the last three steps down. Oh well, at least then I could stand up! The back of my pants were soaked through. XD My tailbone is now bruised. It hurts to sit on. XD It's one of those things that isn't funny while it's happening because you're just scared you'll really hurt yourself or never be able to get up, but later, AHAHAHAHA, I bruised my butt. I feel like Deputy Dawg. "Ooooh, my tailbone!"
Great Christmas, though. :) And now, pictures of the snow!

The hill behind my apartment building, semi-covered in snow. Lookit all the Christmas trash sitting by the dumpster!
AHHHH, GHOST ORBS! :P

Snow to the left!
(Down where that stoplight is is where I catch the bus.)

Snow to the right!

Stand up, sit down, fight fight fight! Yaaaaay SNOW!
'NOTHER ORB!

Fall down go boom!
These are the stairs I fell down, or rather, did the butt bump down. Not the whole flight, thank goodness. I was about halfway down when I slipped.

If I had known, I would have taken this flight. More snow than slush, providing better traction. Oh well.

Covered in frost! Now I'll never get my ride started.
(My neighbors just leave these toys sitting out all the time. They're lucky this is a nice neighborhood. Except for that gang down the street that rides Big Wheels with pimped out stereo systems.)

You can tell which cars have been sitting there all day and which have been out somewhere. :D
Kaye took lots more pictures which she'll send me soon, I HOPE. ;) Including ones of the snowy Dallas skyline. I forgot to bring my camera with me so I couldn't take any pics until I got home.
