TV and such
Apr. 12th, 2013 05:47 amThe construction men have not been back since Saturday. They have to come back, though. They left two HUGE pieces of equipment behind. :D There's a big crane thingie and a cement-ripper-upper right outside my door. I'm not sure that they're ripping up the entire driveway now; it really only looks like they've ripped up the bad part and the rest is just covered with crane tracks, which made it look weird, which made me at first think they had ripped it all up. Anyway, who knows when they'll be back.
I have air conditioning, ahhhhh. The lady in the office pissed me off on Monday. She had told me the maintenance guys would have the a/c on by Monday FOR SURE at the LATEST. So when it's 3PM on Monday and there's still no a/c, I get curious as to what's going on. I went to the office and the woman starts giving me attitude. That is what pissed me off. If you don't know which day they'll have the a/c on, but can give me a general time period, and you actually seem concerned that my apartment had been too hot and sometimes, I've had trouble sleeping because of it, then I can understand and be more patient. But when you ASSURE me it will be done Monday, and then change your story, and show no concern whatsoever, AND get an attitude with me, THEN I get angry. She told me what I wanted to hear (to an extent; I wanted the a/c on sooner, heh) to get me to shut up and go away. Did she think I wouldn't just come back? Anyway, the a/c was turned on Wednesday, and here's how I know...
I tried the a/c Tuesday, wasn't on yet. Then I saw on the news that it would be getting down to about 38 degrees on Wednesday night/Thursday morning because we had a rainstorm that lowered the temperature. It got a little cold in my apartment. (North Texas weather is crazy with the temperature changes sometimes.) I decided to swallow my pride and even though I had bitched about wanting the a/c on, use the heater for one more night. As long as they were going to take their time switching us over... so I turned on the heater and put my hand up in front of the vent to feel the air.
It was cold. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! *kicks self in the butt*
Okay then. So now, it's supposed to warm up again and get up to 85 in a few days. I'm glad the a/c is on now! Very glad.
Bon Jovi just came through here in concert and I didn't go. :( I didn't think it would be a good idea to spend the money. I still wish I could have gone, though. Even without Richie, I would have still liked to see them in concert again. The last time was SOOOOO long ago. Now I'll have to wait until the NEXT album comes out, unless they swing back through at some point.
"The Following" from this past Monday was decent. Spoilers ahead! My two favorite parts were the Claire and Emma slap down and the fact that Mike didn't die. First of all, Claire and Emma's slap fight! How cool was that? The fact that Emma actually thinks they could be friends again just shows how nuts she is, although she could have just been saying all that stuff to go, "Haha, you're our captive and I slept with your ex!" Then when they started smacking each other and Claire began to choke Emma, I was like, "Yeah! Keep going!" I wonder how Joe would have felt if Claire had succeeded in killing Emma? Would he have liked it because Claire committed murder, just like him? Carroll obviously doesn't care about any of these people beyond what he can manipulate them into doing, and what he can use them for, so I doubt he would be upset if Emma died for such a reason.
Claire continues to be stupid. First, she keeps trying to reason with Joe, a man who murdered multiple women and cut out their eyes. What she should be doing is working to manipulate his egotistical, homicidal ass. Then she reads his book and TELLS him that she read it and knows about his crazy (as yet to be revealed) plan, and how it will never work. Again with the trying to reason with a homicidal maniac! Now she knows way too much and Joe can never let her go, not that he would have anyway, but... better not to reveal that you know the master plan to the leader of the cult. Would Joe kill her to keep her from telling the FBI/Ryan about his plan before he can carry it out? I think if she pushed him far enough, he would eventually tire of her attitude and kill her.
The preview for this week's show made things look really bad for Mike. There he is, locked in a room with Carroll and the room has one bulletproof window, and Ryan can't get in to save him. There was a real danger that Mike could get killed, especially since this show seems to follow the "24" motto of character death... anyone can die at any time except the absolute core character(s). That's why I eventually stopped watching "24," because I just couldn't take the constant death anymore. (Although, I kind of want to catch up by DVD since I miss Chloe. You don't find loveable curmudgeon characters like that every day. :D) I really thought there was no way Mike could make it out of that situation alive. Why would Carroll walk out of that room without killing him? Then Ryan said that Carroll couldn't kill Mike because he knew using Mike as a hostage was the only way Ryan would let him pass. PHEW! Good logic.
I was again afraid for Mike's life when Jacob showed up with Parker as hostage. If they could just use Parker as their hostage, then what was the point of leaving Mike alive? I REALLY thought Carroll was going to say, "Well, as long as we've got this one to use as hostage..." and then kill Mike. My little bugaboo, nooooooooooo! But he probably knew that this action might make Ryan go ballistic and it was just safer to get the hell out of there.
Ever notice that when the bad guys run out of a door with FBI in hot pursuit, they seem to just disappear into thin air? Ryan doesn't even see/hear a car drive away, it's just POOF, they're gone. Where is Sigfried? Hello Roy! Jacob and Carroll can FLY! Maybe they were hiding under the porch until Ryan went away. Oh no, wait, they were just behind the door.
I said before that I didn't appreciate the Jacob/Emma/Paul threesome as much as I wanted to because everyone in the group was unattractive. Now that Jacob is away from the other two, he seems a bit cuter. I mean, either way, he's preppier than what I usually like in a guy, but hanging around with Paul and Emma definitely brought his looks down a peg, lol. Especially Emma. Long hair, short hair, doesn't matter, she's just not attractive. I really hope that Jacob doesn't forgive her and would even still like it if he wound up killing her. She betrayed him in a way that just can't be forgiven. He's far more interesting away from her anyway.
Anyway,
bm_shipper had to go and suggest that Jacob and Mike would make a great (AUish) pairing, and I REALLY like that idea. They somehow make each other more attractive just by being paired up together, lol. They just look good together. They fit. Use some of the stuff that's happened on the show and you could have some stellar hurt/comfort!
An idea I had for something that could happen on the show would be that Claire finds out that Joe slept with Emma, then she escapes and relays this information to Ryan. Ryan tells this to Amanda (the crazy chick who was killing Claire Matthewses and had murdered her unfaithful husband) and it infuriates her that Joe would be untrue to his wife, whom he professes to love, so she gives up the cult house. Of course, there are problems with the idea, like if Claire escapes, wouldn't she know the address or general location of the house? And of course, Claire divorced Joe, but that doesn't mean he thinks of it that way. I could just see him playing himself up to Amanda to manipulate her as this totally faithful husband who wants his wife back. I want to see how Amanda would react to hearing that he had sex with another woman TWICE now. I know all this won't happen, though, since the clips from next week seem to reveal how the FBI is going to find the location of the cult house, and it doesn't involve Amanda at all.
Now that I've seen Claire try to kill Emma, I'm not sure WHO I want to kill her. I could just see Joe being all ^___________________^ over the fact that Claire killed someone, like it makes them equal. But I also want Jacob to have revenge on Emma. Just so long as Emma winds up dead...
A little about "Supernatural"... I've seen people bitching about the fact that Sam is the one doing the tablet trials and not Dean again, but this one comment really took the cake. One person said that Dean had absolutely nothing to do to help Sam get through the last trial at all, he just sat on the sidelines while Sam did everything. Um, are we watching the same show??? Dean MURDERED one of his best friends to help Sam get out of Purgatory! Even if he thought Benny would be brought back, it doesn't matter -- Sam COULD NOT have completed that trial without Dean. It just goes to show that some people watch the show through a VERY specific lens. O_o
