I like me a good tortured villain who wields his power with confidence, but is really just waiting for someone to come along who can take him down a peg. Someone he can train, someone who can keep him on his toes. So he's not lonely anymore. So they can wind up kissing when they least expect - wait, some of that only happened in my head.
