Dementedstuff.com *should* be okay now - [livejournal.com profile] deejay paid the invoice for the next six months. Thanks to her for that. :) I haven't been able to get my host to reply to my emails about it yet, how I don't want to cancel my account now because there's someone to pay the bill, but I would think a paid invoice would settle things either way.

I have an interview with Blue Cross Blue Shield next week!!! ^______^ They are hosting job fairs where candidates come and take the assessment tests, then if you pass those, you get an interview. I don't see any reason why I wouldn't pass the tests - I always do. I really hope I get this job; it pays well and is in a great location. *keeps fingers crossed*

I'll be selling a few things I no longer look at. I want to research how much they're worth first. But if anyone wants first choice at a couple of Star Wars storybooks and the Sailor Moon manga art books, let me know.

I have a phone interview with Blue Cross Blue Shield tomorrow morning. BOOYA! Wish me luck, as this would be an awesome thing!

It's a call center job, but I know it will pay well and will be something I'm used to. No one asking me to do unethical shit here. Plus, wouldn't it be awesome to get a new job that quick? I certainly think so. ;)

There are at least three different call centers in Dallas hiring right now. It gives me hope. ^_^

Just so you guys know, my website (www.dementedstuff.com) has been cancelled and will be going down sometime this week. The web hosting for the next six months is due this week and I simply can't pay it, knowing that I am out of work and that I could be in bad financial trouble in only a couple weeks (depends on how things go with unemployment). Once I am financially stable again, I will bring it all back. I'd like to do a big overhaul to the site anyway. There are areas that haven't been maintained in years and I'd like the chance to fix them up before bringing them back. I don't want the site to be saved; if you feel like doing such a thing, give me money for rent instead. It's silly for me to have a website and not enough rent money, if that's what happens. All my stories are still up at [livejournal.com profile] spectral_eye and can be read there. I wish the site money wasn't due right now, but it is, and there's nothing I can do about it.

It kind of makes me sad, because my site has been up somewhere since 1999, and to have it offline for even a few months... :( Bad timing, life. Bad timing.

This was much harder than I thought it would be, mostly because my brain just would not sing the right tunes to get the right lyrics. And because I didn't listen to pop music voluntarily in the 80's; I was a metalhead. There were Def Leppard and Bon Jovi and Poison lyrics on this thing!! WooHOO!! I missed the Whitesnake question though; doh. Oh, I got 72% on this.

I think I know why they cut Skeet from "Cursed;" the movie's becoming a fest of young, hip actors, and he is no longer young and hip. It's sickening, really. To sacrifice good acting for people the teens have been tested to drool over. "We need more young, hip actors in this. You know, someone who's really ugly but the kids seem to like anyway. Maybe they've gone blind from masturbating too much; who knows. Just CUT THE HOT GUY." :P :P :P

Time for butt roast.

Aaaand... the music I spend most of my time listening to!
Now your're thinking, "Who the hell are Victim's Family?!"

I got more blank cd's. Must make more Nirvana and Bon Jovi mix cd's tonight, ooh, and a Joe Walsh! If I ever get offline. I need to update all my bravenet info tonight and it always takes hours and hours for some reason. Or maybe it will go faster than I think since I have the pop-up killer. I just have to look at every account I have with them and change all the URL's for practically everything--mailing lists, forums, counters, blah blah blah. This had better be my last domain change ever. Dementedstuff.com will be mine FOREVER!!

So we went to the grocery store this weekend, and they had Ore Ida Fajita Seasoned Fries on sale 3 bags for $5. Pretty good deal! So I got three bags (three bags full!), we get home, and I'M ALMOST OUT OF KETCHUP!! I HATE it when I do that! I didn't get anymore ketchup for me! Ahhhh! ::stabs self in the chest with the knife again, even though the wounds from last night haven't healed:: Must sneak downstairs and steal dad's extra ketchup--he has TWO bottles. Well, one's almost empty, but it's better than nothing.

The more I watch of this "Mythbusters" show, the more I realize that the hosts are totally whacko. My kinda guys! They're so FUN! Like, they wanted to test the myth about Pop Rocks and soda killing Mikey when he had too much of it together and his stomach burst (which, if you believed that when you first heard it, must of made you a kid or really stupid). They got a pig's stomach (yes, a real one) because it's a lot like a human stomach, attached it to their fake human skeleton (for that real touch), and loaded it up with Pop Rocks and a whole six pack. It did not burst! Dull surprise!

So what do they do? They consulted a doctor to find out what WOULD make it burst, and then loaded the stomach up with that until it DID burst, spraying soda and sodium bicarbonate all over the plastic partition. MY KINDA GUYS! Nutty and fun, with a sense of humor so dark you can hardly find your way home!

They even tried to contact the actor who played Mikey to interview him for the show, but he never returned their calls. Mikey's no fun!

phew

I remembered what the third thing was.

I got my website back! Or rather, I was finally able to pay for the new site and now have everything uploaded. WOW that took a long time. Uploaded stuff every night since Monday, and just finished a couple hours ago. You may view the site here:

http://www.dementedstuff.com

Change your links! Now I've just got to change all my info at bravenet, notify everyone I know about the url change, fix all the links on my free server spaces to reflect this change, change all the info on my net rings, notify my sister sites, and then die.

I've been out of the loop all week while I worked on that, but I'm catching up now. Didn't do anything out of the house for Halloween; the holiday sort of loses its meaning when you're an adult. I mean, I like giving out candy when I can have fun with it, but no one is ever available or willing to come over and get scary with me. My dream Halloween scenario is to decorate my house all scary, play a "scary sounds" tape out the window, and get dressed up to scare the kiddies. This just isn't as fun to do alone. Like, I remember when I was still young enough to trick or treat, there was this one house where two teen boys were in charge of giving out the candy, so one would open the door and then pretend to shoot the other one with an arrow. The guy would scream and pretend to die. Then killer guy would give out the candy and say, "I'll give you this candy if you promise not to tell anyone," and shut the door. I LOVED that. I wanna do that! Or something like it. But no one I know is any damn fun when it comes to Halloween.

When my sister still lived at home, she'd get into the Halloween spirit with me, but our dad would always get irritated with the noise we were making and spoil the whole thing. Now that there's a wall (literally) between my dad and the front door, it probably wouldn't bug him so much.

I could get into Halloween again when my brother's kids were young because they'd let me take them trick or treating. That was really fun. I even brought a third container for Halloween candy and would just hold it up with the kids' bags; most people would just toss candy in there without a second thought, but I always thought it was funny that some adults would give me a dirty look, mwahaha. Hey, I shared the candy with my niece and nephew! (and ate a lot too, shh) It was fun seeing what people would do for Halloween, like the house where someone dressed as Ghost Face hid in the bushes, and as you turned around to leave, there he'd be, waiting for you! Cool, hehheh. But my neice and nephew are too old for all that now.

I need to adopt me a little sister, so holidays like this will mean something again. Either that or get more demented friends, hehheh.

I did, however, have a lot of fun Halloween night because I hosted a costume Rent n' Riff chat of "The Ring." As you know (from reading my journal), I love this movie, but it's one of those movies that people either love or hate, so I knew it would be riffable. We had a really good time! It was more successful and more riffable than I could have hoped for. ^_^ It amuses me how hard the writer of the American remake tried to get certain concepts across without ruining the flow of the story, and people still didn't understand what the hell was going on. XD Like, the thoughtography thing is a good example. Most people have no idea that a psychic power like thoughtography exists (if you believe in psychic powers at all). Samara and Sadako (from "Ringu") both had this power. This is how she made the cursed tape. After death, her ghostly energy hung around the well, and Katie and her friends stayed in the cabin that was right above it. When they tried to record the football game, the reception was bad, so instead, they picked up Samara's ghostly thought waves, and recorded her cursed message. People just don't get that from the movie; you have to watch it more than once, or read stuff on the net to know how the heck the tape was made. The writer could have gotten that across better by having someone actually bring up thoughtography, but perhaps he thought it would be overkill, I dunno. It certainly wouldn't have hurt that movie at all to cut out some of the superfluous stuff, like the lighthouse. The lighthouse wasn't needed at all; something else in the tape could have lead them to its origins. Or rather, the lighthouse could be used, but why have the whole time-wasting drama of not being able to see the lighthouse on the tape until Rachel was able to stretch the tracking until the lighthouse appeared? I just didn't think that was necessary. Just have the damn lighthouse be there, plain to see. It just wasn't cool enough to spend so much time on it, IMO.

Hey, why not have the mental hospital doc who interviewed Samara bring up this psychic power? I could see him trying to convince the child that she didn't have it, so that would be a good way to bring it up.

Anywho, that was fun.

Oh, I had another funny Halloween memory I wanted to share. The last time I took my bro's kids trick or treating, which was '97 or '98, we got home and my bro was there to pick them up. He left from the garage, which has windows that face the street. As he's leaving, some kids come up the front walk, thinking that they can see people home (lights on in the garage with a car leaving and everything). I go back in the house just as they reach the front door and ring the bell. We weren't giving out candy that year (my dad is a total Halloween-pooper), so I didn't answer it. A few seconds later, the kids knock and go, "Trick or treat!" Still I don't answer. Then I hear, "We know you're in there!" XD That story cracks me up everytime I tell it.

And now, this!
