1. What is the meaning behind your LJ name?
2. What was your favorite childhood book or books?
3. What is your favorite recipe and why? Try to post the recipe if you have time.
4. What are the top 5 things on your wish list?
5. What do you collect?

5. Luckily, I made a list of all the stuff I could think of that I collect for questions like this some time ago. These are in no particular order. Stuff on all of my favorite actors/TV shows/movies/bands/etc, dolls, unicorns, Stephen King books, true crime books, Happy Meal toys, armadillos, Texas stuff, shot glasses from all over the world, miniature flags from all over the world, figurines, music boxes, cool and pretty fabrics and patterned papers, stuffed animals, Yuletide (Christmas) decorations, interesting candles, keychains, magnets, geodes, raccoons and foxes (stuff, not the real thing), clocks, books about ghosts and parapsychology, origami, pretty Mardi Gras beads, butterflies (stuff, not the real thing), windchimes, angels (especially ones with funky wings), cute weird little knick-knacks, pretty needlepoint and cross-stitch kits, cute Furbies, crafts books, and any combination of the above.

Besides the stuffed animals, I think the collection I started the earliest was the unicorns. I've loved them since I was a little girl. :)

Well, I'm not sure I have a worst case of buyer's remorse, but this is definitely a purchase I wound up regretting. I bought an 8 gig mp3 player because it was on sale for a really good price. It's made by some company called GPX and I really don't like it. First off, I want the songs to play in alphabetical order so I get a true mix of bands in each listening experience. Instead, this thing plays the songs in the order in which I loaded them on the player. No amount of fiddling will fix this. Second, the battery life sucks. It lasts about 2-3 hours and then needs to be recharged. That's pretty pathetic. The only good thing is it has a meager little camera, which may come in handy once or twice, except that it has no flash.

I bought a Coby 8 gig mp3 player to replace it, which I got from Amazon using a gift certificate I've had for a while. This one's much better. It plays the songs in alphabetical order if I want it to, and the battery lasts about 15 hours. I wish the GPX one had turned out to be a better purchase because of the added bonus of a camera, but now I won't be using it much at all.

Ahhh, it's Friday the 13th! Too bad for it that Friday the 13th is usually a totally regular day for me, or a great day. No jinx! ;)

"Supernatural" was so funny and cute but also sad tonight. I really enjoyed it. ^_^ I guess I'll cut the rest for spoilers. 7.14 spoilers )

In other news, I've decided to try to get more organized and get rid of a lot of cumbersome, heavy crap around my apartment. More )

My sister said she would bring my TV down here! Yaaaaaaaay. I hope it will be before the weekend so I can watch some Labor Day stuff and what have you. Waiting to hear from her on when she can bring it.

Kinda thinking about signing up for [livejournal.com profile] smallfandombang and [livejournal.com profile] polybigbang, although I probably won't. I've pretty much signed up for the maximum I can handle between now and the end of January, and would probably just wind up dropping out of both. (Plus the poly bang has several rules that pretty much count out any threesome I'd really want to write; I'd have to take up something entirely new. Not likely, when I have at least one WiP I'd rather finish. Although, I do have a great threesome I could write, but with Yuletide coming up and the other BB's, just don't think it'll come together. I might even wind up writing it for Yuletide!) I'd love to write another "Miracles" story for the small fandom thing, but with me not being able to cross it over with SPN (heh), I'll probably lose interest. I don't know, I'll have to check my list of fic bunnies and see if there's a really good one I could do for just "Miracles" that would keep my attention. Wah. *pout* Big bangs are so shiny and pretty and I want to sign up for them all. I wish I could be that prolific, without any other distractions. I wish they didn't run on similar schedules so I wind up having to write 2 or 3 at once, then nothing for months. It just doesn't work out.

*Sigh* I hate signing up for these and then just having to drop out. But I also hate NOT signing up for them.

WOOHOO!

I've got some of my stuff from the storage space here now, woohoo!!

I mentioned that Nancy's brother is visiting; he's actually moving here. Nancy suggested that maybe he could help me with a little moving for a piddly amount of money, and I said yeah, that would be a great idea, even if we didn't clean out the storage space but instead take only some of the boxes to my apartment. It's a lot of work for one person to do alone, the entire unit, and I can only help with the lighter boxes.

Today, it was much cooler outside. I think the winds from Hurricane Irene came this far inland in a much weaker form and they were the cause of the nice, strong breeze. We got a teeny amount of rain early in the morning. It was a perfect time to do the moving. Nancy's brother came over and asked if I wanted to work on the storage space while it was still nice and cool, and I said WOOHOO and yes. :D
