Wow, I haven't posted here much this month. I'll try to do an update soon.

As things stand now, I've done something to my shoulder and as a result will be trying to spend less time on the computer until it feels better. I think it's a return of the rotator cuff tendonitis I had back in 2010 because the pain is exactly the same. The doctor in the ER declared it's a sprain, but I think that's because he didn't want to prescribe me any muscle relaxers, which worked wonders last time. The pain is less today. If it hurts a lot tomorrow, I will go see my regular doctor. Pbbbt.

I was pretty much convinced that the pain in my shoulder is caused by some form of tendonitis until I did some reading on carpal tunnel syndrome. Apparently, CTS pain can affect the shoulderblade area as well. The main thing that makes me go O_O! about it is the fact that the tip of my index finger is still numb. Numbness in the fingers/hand is a big symptom of CTS. I mean, really, WHY is my index finger numb? I can feel myself touching it, and I can move it, but it's all muted, pins and needles feeling. When I cut the nail on that finger, I can't feel it. It seems that if you are still experiencing pain and numbness after 8 weeks, you are a good candidate for CTS surgery, and if you don't have it, you could suffer permanent nerve damage. Yikes. Well, I'll monitor it. My shoulder still feels like it is well on the mend, but almost nothing has changed about the numb finger. The swelling went down, that's it.

Movies I have seen on DVD lately:

Chicken Little: Boring story. A few things made me laugh out loud, but they were few and far between. Kirby the alien was adorable, the highlight of an otherwise forgettable film.

Robots: Dull, forgettable, Robin Williams' character was very irritating and unfunny. A few of the robots looked really awesome, but that small part of the animation wasn't enough to keep my attention. I'm glad I didn't take a kid to see this in the theatre, because I'm sure they would have been misbehaving and playing loudly out of sheer boredom.

Memories of Murder: This Korean film has received a lot of buzz; I've had people recommend it to me for how great it's supposed to be. I was bored. Too long, too many unlikeable characters, too much nothing going on, too many eye-rollingly convenient plot twists, too much BLAH. Even if they shaved 40 minutes out of it, I still would have been bored. Korea's first case of a serial killer was, apparently, dull.

...coming to you from beautiful downtown DeskintheLivingRoom! Yaaaaaaaay!

My old computer setup wasn't the least bit ergonomic. I had my monitor on the bottom shelf of a tv cart and my mouse and keyboard on the floor, and I'd lie on the floor and work/play, sometimes sitting up indian style and working/playing. It was comfortable for over a year, but recently, not so much. So, after my shoulder felt better, I went back to this setup to see if it really was the problem, and unfortunately, it was. My shoulder started to painfully tense up once more last night. Damn. :( I was hoping I could get rid of my desk and have less furniture whenever I move to my new apartment, but no such luck. I dragged the desk in here last night, and after a bad arrangement that had me peering at the tv around the monitor, finally settled on putting the desk next to the tv. It looks nice. :) Took ages to get the tv moved over a couple feet (until I remembered I have little discs you can slide under the corners of the tv stand that make it easier to push across the floor), but it's done.

Getting older is no fun in this way. You can't lounge around on the floor in weird positions without hurting something. Now my keyboard and mouse are on a sliding shelf at waist level, which doesn't hurt much at all. My index finger is still puffy and a little numb, though, but I've noticed less numbness since last night. Which of course means "yes Laurel, you're exactly right, it was your weirdo computer setup that was causing ALL your pain."

But, now my butt falls asleep if I sit in this chair too long. Note: Put "comfy desk chair" on the list of things I'd like to buy when I have lots of extra cash... *smacks own butt to wake it up*

Aren't you guys glad you know that?! My life is so exciting! I'm sure the neighbors downstairs just looooved me last night, moving furniture at 4AM... I tried to be quiet, I really did, but I butterfingered a couple things, and then all my folders slid off the arm of the couch... ^_^;;

I went to a Care Now clinic on Tuesday. Doctor thinks I strained my shoulder somehow. She poked it a bit and said the muscles were very tense. I've been on muscle relaxers, pain meds, and whatever prednisone is to bring down the swelling. I didn't give the muscle relaxers a fair chance last weekend, so I started taking them as much as the bottle says to. There's been much improvement, but it still hurts some. My fuck you finger is back to normal and my index finger is almost swell-free. Still a teensy bit numb, though. The pain is no longer keeping me up at night. It still hurts to type and use the mouse. Of course. 9_9 I'm trying to minimize my use of both, doing things that more use the mouse (since it hurts less). While something that is slow to load is loading, I go do something else/sit on the couch and wait so I'm not straining my shoulder for that time. I think it'll get all better, it will just take a bit more time.

I have no idea how I injured it, unless it was by doing something that I do all the time that once did not throw out my shoulder but now does. Getting older can suck.

Skeet is going to be in another pilot for CBS where he'll play a doctor who is a single father. Meh. If they pick it up, I hope it's good. The suckiness of "Jericho" nearly killed my love for his career, sadly, and I'd be very pouty if it happened again. The premise doesn't do much for me. Medical shows are all the same unless they successfully create a sense of family among the staff. I'd like to see Skeet get another supernatural show. Still, he is good with children... we'll see.

I may be gone for a while, I don't know how long. My shoulder started hurting on Friday and it has escalated into some pretty intense pain. My entire right arm hurts, the first two fingers of my right hand are so swollen that my fingertips are numb, and there's a spot on my shoulderblade that feels like someone has stabbed me there and never moves the knife. It feels like arthritic pain (I've had it before), but nothing I try relieves the stabbing pain in my shoulderblade. The other pain can be helped some, but not that. I'm trying Naproxen (anti-inflammatory), a generic version of Tylenol Arthritis, Icy Hot creme, and a heating pad, and nothing has knocked out that stabbing pain. Tried my muscle relaxers too; did nothing. The heating pad I bought hardly works and needs to be returned (it never gets hot). It hurts to do anything. Can't type or use the mouse without really bad pain. Hardly slept last night because I can't get comfortable; no matter what position I try to lie in, it still hurts like hell. Can't concentrate on anything because all I can think about is how much it hurts.

I have no health insurance. All I can think of to do is go to one of those walk-in clinics and see what they think. Maybe they can give me a stronger painkiller until this attack of arthritis subsides. I don't know if this is serious enough to justify going to the emergency room.

I wish I had someone here to rub this cream on the stabby spot. I can't reach it. :(

Hopefully I'll be around more soon.

The pain in my right arm has moved down into the knuckles of my right hand now. It's nice to have it out of my elbow, but at the same time, OW. The knuckle on my right ring finger is particularly experiencing sharp pains. It feels very much like arthritis is supposed to feel, which isn't so weird since my mother had awful arthritis in her 30's. I'm going to suck on my knuckle now.

Oh, Moosie asked me recently who is the worst actor around, and I just realized that I totally forgot about the #1 contender for that spot. DAVID SNOREANAZ. His acting is just barely passable, and he's so freakin' ugly from the neck up. Oh, excuse me, David Boremeanaz. Woops. David BOREanaz. :P :P FREDDY KRUEGER plays evil better than this guy. The only thing he's got going for him is he does good booboo faces. I hate Angel almost as much as I hate David Boringanaz, and that's because of things he's done and the fact that he just wallows in his own suffering. Get over it Frankenbrow! Hey, me and Spike have something in common. >:)

I'm feeling very creative tonight, so I'm trying to decide what I want to work on.

LJ, QUIT DOING CRAP TO THE MACHINE THAT HOUSES MY JOURNAL! I WANT TO POST, THANK YOU!

For some reason my right arm hurts really bad. I'm trying to remember what I did yesterday that would make it sore, and it's either over-mouse use or coloring pictures. I don't think I used the mouse any more than usual, so I guess it was coloring the one pic that did it. It's still weird, though, because there have been days when I've colored three or four pics and my arm didn't hurt. I guess it was the amount of pencil coloring this picture had? The pencils always take more work. Ouchie ouchie ooh ohh.

"Last Comic Standing": My prediction is that Dat will win, and I'm not just saying that because I like him so much. I say that because practically no one did their funniest material, and he truly was the funniest, imo. Truthfully, Rich, Tess, and Cory left me going, "These are the funniest stand-up comics in America?!" They barely illicited a chuckle out of me. I was wondering if they had ANY material that could be considered "their funniest." Ralphie was Dat's major competition, and he didn't do his best stuff. So, we'll see if America agrees with me.

You are allowed to vote online three times. It says you can vote 3 times "from the same e-mail address." Ooooh, so I can vote again from another e-mail address? If so, I think my non-existant child Lolo-ral will be voting too. ~_^ I put in all my votes for Dat. I was going to vote twice for him and once for Ralphie for being funny in the past, but then I remembered how Ralphie talked shit about several people behind their backs and then was nice to their faces. I hate people like that. It'll just kill me if someone like Rich or Tess wins this thing. I don't think they will, but I would die of shock if they did. THEY'RE JUST NOT FUNNY. Especially not funny enough to carry their own show and crap.

Hey, Mother Nature, bring those thunderstorms down here! It's 99 outside! We could use some rain!
