I mailed a package at the PO today, and the line was monstrously long. I guess that's because of Valentine's Day. Anyway, this Muslim guy (he was dressed so you could tell) came in and was wandering around looking for a pen--really nice, friendly, smiley guy. When the guy walked out, this other guy goes, "I hope he's not a suicide bomber!" and started up a little conversation with some of the other people in line. I thought, "Paranoid?" but I guess he does have a reason to worry, since the terror alert is elevated. Still, it seems silly, that suburban Richardson, TX would be a target. I felt kinda sorry for the Muslim guy; he's just trying to mail a package and find a pen, and people are thinking things like that about him just because of his race and religion.

All of my shows have been fairly decent lately; yay! ^_^ Always makes a week easier to deal with, when you feel all entertained.

I'm about to install my video capture card. It was bought for me for Christmas several years ago, and I've never installed it because I always have trouble inserting cards. For some reason, I push and push and they just won't go in. I always have to get some big strong guy to come over and push the card into the slot. (That sounds so dirty.) But now, I really want to use it badly, and I have no big strong guy to come over and put it in, unless I want to wait on someone. So, I'm going to attempt it myself. It's possible that the reason I always had trouble getting them in in the past is because I always tried to insert them from the side. Well, the picture in the manual that shows you how to insert the video card shows the CPU on its side, where you insert the card from the top, so it's going downward. That may just make the difference! It might be easier to push it down and in. And stupid goofy me never thought of that until that picture. 9_6

Anyway, I hope I can get it in smoothly.

This guy on the daily version of "The Weakest Link" is very funny. Yesterday, they had flight attendants on as the contestants, and whenever someone got voted off, he said very funny things. Such as, when one lady was walking off, he started going, "Bye. Buh-bye," and doing the flight attendant wave. XD Another good comment, "Who's stored their brain in the overhead compartment?" Today they've got nurses on. Another good comment there: "Who gives out pills as 'one for you, two for me...'" And, "Whose brain could use a sponge bath?" I like him much better than that British lady.

My dad got his check yesterday. He goes, "Bet you've never seen a $15,000 check before!" Nope, I haven't! It's really funny because my dad's family has always called him "Frankie," and that's what it says on the check. XD He's like, "I've never been able to get them to stop calling me that." XD I just wonder where he's going to put the money; I think if you just drive up to the window and try to put $15,000 into your account their eyes will bug out of their heads. He may have to go inside the building to do it. Not sure what their policies are on that.

We cancelled HBO today. :( It's all my fault 'cause I opened my mouth and put my foot in it, hehheh. We got the cable bill for January and it was about $10 higher than usual. They had gone up on several things. My dad was all grumbly about it, so I said hey, why don't we cancel one of the movie channels? That'll save us about $15.00 a month. I didn't think he'd go for the idea, but my dad jumped right on it. "That's a great idea!" XP So I decided that HBO was the channel we watch the least, my dad agreed, and I cancelled it. Now, of course, a movie I've been wanting to see for years will suddenly come on HBO. I just find that most of the time, the movies I want to tape/watch come on Cinemax, Starz, or Encore, so as long as we have those channels, I'm happy. ^_^ The only HBO channel I'll really miss is the comedy one. They had good comedians' specials on there all the time. But it's gone now, oh well. ::sniffle sniff:: :D

Someone called today from a mortgage company who wants to interview me for a job they have open. I need to call them tomorrow to set up the interview, and who knows when it will be, but I'm already getting nervous! Stop it, stupid head! There's no reason to get nervous and it doesn't help anything anyway. I'm already like, "What if I get the job? When will it start? Arrrrrrgh!" I may not even get it! STOP IT. All I can do is go in there and do my best to get the job; no amount of worrying will change that. So I'm just going to try to stop thinking about it altogether until tomorrow (I can't forget completely, or I might forget to call!). Good thing my dad and I went and bought me some job interview shirts this week!
