I'm extremely sick, downing cold medicine, and don't seem to be getting any better. As soon as I sleep, my head just fills up with snot again, and I wake up feeling horrible again. My air conditioning isn't working and it's nearly 80 in here. No one is doing their job like they're supposed to and I'm worried about various shit because of it. I want to cry. I have no energy to deal with any of it. Things could be worse, far worse, but I'm still incredibly annoyed with life right now.
None of that has anything to do with how I feel about the season finale of "Supernatural."
SPN 5.22 "Swan Song" spoilers ahead.
LLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAME. Had to be one of the lamest, filler-rific season finales I have ever seen. They're lucky they have a season 6, because if that's how they ended the whole series, I'd be incredibly upset.
- What was the point of killing Castiel and Bobby if they were just going to bring them back five minutes later? Pointless.
- I couldn't believe how much filler there was in this. Lamest Apocalypse ever.
- So what was the point with the warehouse and Crowley turning Dean away from it?
- So Chuck is God? WHATever. Is anybody who they actually say they are?
- Liked the little army man in the ashtray and legos in the engine. Cute.
- Was that Sam we were looking at at the end or Lucifer? I think it was supposed to be Sam. I know I've seen this story before. Again, I'm glad they have a sixth season, because leaving things like this would make me VERY unhappy. Does Sam really think Dean can be happy like that? He'll be sneaking out and hunting within a week.
- I know that somehow they'll bring everybody back together, but things being like this all summer - NOT HAPPY WITH IT. If I haven't made that clear enough.
- It's incredibly OOC for Dean to leave Sam in Hell, IMO. I don't care if he did make a "promise," I don't believe it.
- Sam, do you think that maybe it might make Dean feel better to know you're okay? And what's with the "I must leave Dean in his apple pie life" shit all of the sudden? Really, I don't get why they ended the season this way when there were so many other things they could have done that would have been more interesting and satisfying. At least for me. It's not like this is even an original or particularly interesting way to end their Apocalypse. Did they run out of money or something?
Dean leaving Sam in the normal life, that I could see, because we've seen Sam in that life before and I'm sure Dean thinks that's where Sam belongs. But Sam leaving Dean in that life is quite out of left field.
- I DID like the use of Def Leppard. :D Heeheeheehee.
- Unless Misha announces that he's left the show (please don't let him announce that), I'm assuming Castiel will return for some reason.
- When Lucifer!Sam and Michael!Adam were falling into the Hell hole, I kept expecting someone to yell, "XEEEEEEEENAAAAAAAAAA! I mean DEEEEEEEEEAN!"
- Did Bobby get his soul back? Is this how he gets to walk again? How fucking lame. His spine is magically healed. What a cheat.
- Really, the more I think about it, this had to be one of the most disappointing SPN episodes ever, and definitely the worst season ender. They just lost it. The writers had no idea how to write themselves out of their Apocalypse hole, so they cheated their way out of it. The season started out so strong, too.
- I don't even like Lisa.
- So is Dean going to spend the whole summer bonding with that poor kid and then just leave him when Sam comes back? Do the writers expect us NOT to think about stuff like that? Jesus.
- Again, I thought Dean was the only one who could stop the Apocalypse.
- The spoilers were misleading. They didn't say, "A beloved character will die... and come back to life five minutes later."
- With Chuck doing the narration about the car, did anyone else think the Impala was going to die? Like, Sam was going to drive the car over the cliff into Hell?
- "Sam, I will do anything to make you happy. I let Dean live, I'll even bring back your parents. HAHA, only kidding!" *Blows up Cas, kills Bobby, tries to kill Dean*
- Assbutt? Hee.
- The thing with the mirror, where the reflection was Sam, was kinda cool.
- I liked Sam remembering all the good times.
- That really bothered me that Sam was about to jump into the hole and they can't even have Dean or Sam say, "I love you," to the other. Don't give me this crap about men don't say that or these guys don't say things like that; this is, as far as each of them knows, the last time he's ever going to see his brother. I find it very unbelievable that those words would not come out of the mouth of at least one of them.
- I did like Dean telling Sam that he was there for him, that he wasn't going to leave, no matter how much Lucifer smacked him around.
Overall, I am unsatisfied. Season 6 better make up for it. Sam and Dean are supposed to ride off into the sunset together, damnit.
I really needed this episode to be better after the week I've had. Now I just want to bawl my head off for how sad and unsatisfying it was.
Movies I have seen lately:
The Strangers: The original this movie was based on was better, and that's not saying much. Who answers the door at 4AM? Without at least saying, "Who is it?" Sure, the porch light is out, but you go ahead and open the door, Einstein. Go ahead and NOT have sex with Liv Tyler to answer the door, uh huh, okay. Could have been good. Wasn't. What made the origimal movie kinda good was that the house was like a character in itself. Not true here. Also, the ending was shocking because they revealed that the assailants were teenagers by having them troop onto the school bus. Not true here either. There were lots of scenes in this remake that should have been tense and scary, but they just weren't. I don't know exactly what was missing; something.
Crazy Eights: Slightly confusing and sucktacular. Good premise, bad execution.
Eurotrip: Maybe two good jokes. Sucked. I laughed when they walked into the German club and they were playing a techno version of the "Scotty Doesn't Know" song, and I snickered when the kid walked out on the balcony and everyone thought he was the new pope. That was it.
