I went with a friend to run an errand today, but we weren't extremely familiar with exactly where the office was so there was a lot of lost wandering around in the sun. If I had realized that would happen, I would have worn sunscreen, but I didn't know. Now I am very sunburned. :D It's not "oh my God I can't wear clothes it hurts so much" at this point, but it's definitely uncomfortable. My face and arms got the worst of it. Even my ears are burned. Also my head and neck. And the backs of my fingers. I look like a tomato. How long does it take for sunburn to feel better again?

In other news, is there anything better than avocado or guacamole on a hamburger? And monterey jack cheese? Or ranch sauce? I'll give you the answer - no, there isn't. So delicioooooooooooous. I could eat them every day until I get sick of them, which would take a long, long time.

Sorry, vegetarians. :D

Yes, I love my birth name. Although "Laurel" has become a little more popular in recent years, it's still pretty unique, and people tell me all the time how pretty it is. ^_^ I wouldn't mind changing my last name, though, something more interesting and not so common and boring.

One Micro Movie Review:
The Benchwarmers: Is it generally known that morons have a lot of money to spend on lousy movies or something? The commercial made this look like it would be funny in a stupid way, but I'd give it a "Hated It" rating on Netflix. I made that "pssh" half-laugh sound a couple of times, but other than that, not an actual joke to be had. Then there's the joke where the villain of the movie turned out to be gay and "our heroes" laughed at that as if it made him a total loser, "Haha, aren't you glad you aren't that homo?" kind of idiocy. THEN they made fun of "midgets" at length. Totally lowest common denominator, just plain mean kind of "humor." Run far away.
If Rob Schneider wants to keep making dumb comedies, he should stick to stuff like that one where he turns into a woman. At least that one was cute.

For the last few days, I've had a new story idea running through my head for yet another SPN/Miracles crossover universe. Cut 'cause this post is kind of lengthy already )

Starting Wednesday, we're supposed to get some rain that will cool things off about ten degrees for at least five days. I can't WAIT. BRING IT OOOOOON!

I'm extremely sick, downing cold medicine, and don't seem to be getting any better. As soon as I sleep, my head just fills up with snot again, and I wake up feeling horrible again. My air conditioning isn't working and it's nearly 80 in here. No one is doing their job like they're supposed to and I'm worried about various shit because of it. I want to cry. I have no energy to deal with any of it. Things could be worse, far worse, but I'm still incredibly annoyed with life right now.

None of that has anything to do with how I feel about the season finale of "Supernatural."

SPN 5.22 spoilers under the cut )

Movies I have seen lately:

The Strangers: The original this movie was based on was better, and that's not saying much. Who answers the door at 4AM? Without at least saying, "Who is it?" Sure, the porch light is out, but you go ahead and open the door, Einstein. Go ahead and NOT have sex with Liv Tyler to answer the door, uh huh, okay. Could have been good. Wasn't. Spoilers )

Crazy Eights: Slightly confusing and sucktacular. Good premise, bad execution.

Eurotrip: Maybe two good jokes. Sucked. Spoilers )

I skipped work today, using my personal day from this new quarter. I was originally going to save it for June so I could go to A-kon on that Saturday, but I should have known there was no way I could save it that long. I am HORRIBLE at saving for a "rainy day." Once I have something, I just have to use it right away. I'll figure out what I want to do for A-kon when I get closer to June; I haven't preregistered yet anyway, so I may just go on that Friday and skip the rest. I'm sure I'll have NO money left after my vacation anyway. XD

The reason I skipped is that I have no air conditioning, and it's been over 80 in here for 4 days, and I was just exhausted. It's been really hard to sleep. After I post this, I'm getting ready to go out and I'll stop by the office on the way out to ask (again) when the a/c will be on. If it isn't today, I'm going to request that they put a window-model a/c in my apt until they decide to grace us with a/c. This is fucking Texas, goddamn it. People can't live like this. I know I can't be the only person who is a ball of sweat and has been complaining.

Second thing, I may just have to buckle down and go see the doctor again. I am no doctor, but I think I may have some sort of inner ear infection. There has been this sinus-like pressure in my ears for a couple weeks that comes and goes. The pressure extends down into the sides of my neck. It's very uncomfortable. Also, seems like I read somewhere that inner ear disturbances can cause nausea? That would explain a lot. The lack of sleep hasn't helped me feel better there.

And finally, I have shit to do. Can't be bothered with spending the whole day listening to people whine. ;) Dishes need to be done, haven't done my taxes yet, need to shop for computer accessories, story needs to be typed, probably more, and Grey Dawg can pay me to do it all, muha.
