Stupid wifi isn't working at home. I'm currently on the McWifi at McDonalds, which is so weak that if I sit two booths behind me, I can't connect to it. @_@ Here's hoping the hotel takes it seriously and actually fixes it, and stops trying to blame the problem on "high internet traffic." Really? I can't connect or stay connected to the internet for 9 hours now because of high internet traffic? Oh, then it must be my tablet. You mean the tablet that is now on the internet, and stays connected at home when the wifi there decides to work? Stop making excuses and FIX IT. They ruined my entire day off.

I know there are bigger problems I could face in life, but that doesn't make this any less annoying. I want to use my internet at home, laying on my bed and watching my tv shows. Instead I have to be here, in an uncomfortable plastic booth, listening to strangers yammer and the "fries are ready!" alarm going off over and over. 😠

If I seem to be gone for any length of time, that's why.

http://www.dogsbite.org/dog-bite-statistics-study-dog-attacks-and-maimings-merritt-clifton.php

I am bookmarking this link for my own use because I'm tired of the snootily sarcastic "Look, a person was able to get a picture of a pit bull not biting someone's face off! That means they're a totally safe breed that has been stereotyped as vicious," posts on Facebook. The statistics show otherwise. I know this post will piss some of you off. I don't care. I'm sick of stories on the news of a person who owns pit bulls and doesn't bother to keep them in their own yard and the dogs get out and maul someone. I'm tired of news stories about the loving family pet pit bull who never ever bit someone and then suddenly one day, they just turn and maul a 6-year-old to death, and the parent cries on the news about how they wish they never got that dog because now their child is dead. You can't tell me that every one of these stories is due to the owner "making" them vicious. It's not a news bias against pit bulls, either. These statistics show that there's a reason for the stereotype. There's a reason that idiots who want a badass dog so they can feel like a bigshot get pit bulls. That reputation wasn't created on nothing. Sure, the dog will only bite intruders. It will never turn on their family or a random neighbor walking by the house. No, they have complete control. Sure. You're not at all arrogant for thinking you have that control either. <---- sarcasm!

I almost posted this on Facebook but I decided to put it here instead because I wound up ranting angrily far more than I intended, and I know posting it on FB will just set off a big argument I'm not in the mood for. I'm just sick of seeing people share these links and pictures that speak of how gentle and safe pit bulls are in a snooty, "God you're so stupid for thinking pit bulls are dangerous," tone. If you own a pit bull and that dog is gentle and has never bitten anyone, good for you. That doesn't mean every pit bull on the planet is just as safe.

I'm tired of Dallas being known for things that don't properly represent everything we'll all about, or national tragedy. Kennedy was shot here. Television makes it seem as if we're all about millionaires who got rich off oil rights (nevermind the fact that I do own a very small share in an oil company, I inherited it and $15-30 a year will never make me rich XD), cowboys who live on horse ranches, and police who act like Chuck Norris. Is it too much to ask that we have one show set in Dallas that portrays its other sides?

Now I hear that the Kardashians keep hanging around Dallas and that one of them may join the cast of a local show called "Cheaters." (As a host or a client? Zing!) Okay, Kardashians, get the HELL out of my city before people start associating it with YOU. Aaaaand STAY out!

Who is the female newscaster on the Female Ice Skating events? I'm glad ice skating is over because she's driving me crazy. Everyone around you is pronouncing the skater's names right. It's Yu-na, You-nah. Do you not see the hyphen? Why do you insist on repeatedly calling her "Yuna"? Are you deaf? Do you not hear everyone else saying "Joannie" with a French flair? Yet you keep calling her "Joe-annie" like some hick. Once you hear others saying it properly, why don't you CORRECT your mistake? Quit making such an idiot of yourself and LEARN HOW TO SAY PEOPLE'S NAMES RIGHT or don't officiate, for christ's sake!

That's been bothering me SO MUCH.

I'm amused with the guy who stands up near where the skiers take off from and cheers very enthusiastically in a loud booming voice for *everyone*. At first I thought he was in one skier's camp until I heard him doing the same thing for the next skier. "Come on, go, Bodie Miller!" XD He cracks me up.

Last summer, we had the racing guy who practically screamed, "READY! SET!" in a really funny voice. This time around, we have the speed skating "Reeeeeeadyyyyy..." guy and the "ready" guy. They never get a normal person to say it. XD
